I'm studying a short course on Web Design and it focuses only on Dreamweaver. And I want to study flash animations but I don't know what program to use.

Which one should I use? Adobe Flash or Macromedia Flash?
Any suggestions?

I've taken that type of class...here's a tip...

Flash Animation, meaning both can be embedded into Director, but not the other way around. I'm sure you're getting into Lingo and Action Script, right?

No. My short course only focuses on Dreamweaver and nothing else. I have to study other internet languages by my self like JavaScript, etc.

I'd say get Flash. Macromedia is probably good. Thats what I use. It's not a tool you "pick up and learn intuitively" though. I would suggest looking up free tutorials or buying a dummies book to get you started.

Adobe Flash IS Macromedia Flash. Adobe bought out Macromedia in 2005.

Flash site design deals a lot with active scripting, which in a way is similar to coding in Java(script) aka a bitch. So its no walk in the park, and its not something you just pick up unlike web design. I suggest buying a Flash for Dummies book or something....

I doidn't know that. It's the same.

I planned it from the start. I once saw a book about Flash CS3, but I don't have the program back then. And when I go back to the bookstore, I'll definitely buy one.
