Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core (PSP)

I used to download games, but I have since stopped. I love opening a new game I just bought. I also love the companies like Atlus, I really want to support them.
Oh, I love that so much too! I enjoy opening the package, reading through the manual and then inserting the disc for the first time.

Yeah. Though with Blue Dragon and Lost odyssey I had to change over packages. I had two empty PC game cases. The ones that hold like 6 dvds's. So I just put the two 360 games into those, and transfered the manuals and box covers. It really bugged me how LO was 4 dvds, and they rammed it into a 1 dvd box.

PSP game downloads from one torrent site:

God of War: Chains of Olympus - 94,154
Patapon - 112,183
Ratchet & Clank - Size Matters - 197,113
Crush - 48,959
LOCO ROCO - 163,904
Wipeout Pulse - 116,965
Castlevania X Chronicles - 102,354
Metal Gear Solid - Portable Ops (Not Including Plus) - 231,054
Burnout Dominator - 269,486

Not exactly small numbers. Especially damaging to smaller games that need the sales like Patapon, LocoRoco, Crush and Castlevania.

Piracy is piracy no matter how you justify it. Yeah, I download stuff to try it out too so I am most definitely a hypocrite, but it's still stealing.

Wow, surprisingly high...
I don't really pirate games much... Just music (most of what I listen to I can't buy anyway, or if I did no profit would go to the artists), TV (a lot of which just not shown here, I don't have time to watch or DVDs aren't out). For games, it's usually roms of old snes and gameboy games, which I don't really see the problem with. I pirated Portal, just because I didn't know whether it would work on my computer and I didn't want to waste my money. One or two PSP games that I found weren't even worth pirating.

Hopefully this game will get me liking my PSP :)
Hopefully the PSPhone will be better designed.

sooo just wanted to know..who's playing as gackt in the american version? XDD

i was definately surprised at how detailed gackt turned up in the game ... he even moves like him during battles o.O .. like if u've ever seen his movie moonchild..he moves just like that.. in what me and my roommate call the question mark pose XD

oops i mean genesis of course :P

btw he was the voice actor of genesis in dirge of cerebus also XD

comment on the video ...but a bit of a spoiler... so yeah

I played through the Japanese version until near the end and decided I wanted to wait until the American Version came out before fully completing the game. When they actually spoke I was quite able to follow the story, but during of the just the text spoken sequences, I was pretty lost xD

So completely worth it if you own a PSP, it's really the ONLY try at making a decent game for it that isn't a mini game or a downgraded of a new game or megadrive game.

Some developers are worried about piracy anymore.

And with good reason:

"The reason why we don't put copy protection on our games isn't because we're nice guys. We do it because the people who actually buy games don't like to mess with it. Our customers make the rules, not the pirates. Pirates don't count," Wardell argues. "When Sins popped up as the #1 best selling game at retail a couple weeks ago, a game that has no copy protect whatsoever, that should tell you that piracy is not the primary issue."

And he's right. A lot of the stuff I download illegally, I usually have no intension of buying in the first place. So, with me it's not like they lose a sale. Same goes for a lot of other pirates.

Yeah, I download stuff I have no intention of buying as well so not every illegal download can be considered a lost sale. We can still be considered thieves though since we're still stealing.

Your example is specifically about PC gaming. Not sure that really applies here.

Piracy was arguably the largest contributing factor in our beloved Dreamcast's demise. I'd hate to see that happen to the PSP.

PSP software sales aren't the best from what I've heard and it does make sense. If it's that easy to DL and play games for free, they might actually be losing some sales versus what happens on the PC. But you can DL games for the DS and it's software sales are just fine.

What's the difference?

I don't think the PSP will fall though. Sony will just learn from it and make another machine that is harder to hack and easier to get legit games for. They're smart and forward thinking. They've been the kings for so long, I can't see anything they do suffering the same fate as SEGA and the Dreamcast.

I thought the DC's main downfall was lack of a DVD player, and not so much rampant piracy.
