Favorite Kamen Rider Movies

Man, there are a lot of Kamen Rider films, aren't there? Yet, I find most of the ones I've seen to be, well, of rather low cinematic quality. However, with so many films, there are bound to be some great ones. So which ones are your favorite films in the Kamen Rider franchise? They don't necessarily need to be theatrical releases, a movie is a movie.

My top films, in no order.

Kamen Rider W Returns: Kamen Rider Accel - In a lot of ways, I consider this a pitch perfect superhero film, as well as a pitch perfect Kamen Rider film. We see Accel go through pain, loss, confusion, and ultimately, redemption. Terui is one of my all time favorite Kamen Riders, and this movie showcases with incredible ability as to why I adore the character. He is a fantastic protagonist, and the film introduces an antagonist that suits as a well-made antithesis to Terui's current ideals. Brilliant film, and one of the best in the franchise.

Kamen Rider Kabuto: God Speed Love - I actually prefer the film over the series. In only an hour, we get emotional depth, three dimensional characters, a well plotted-out conspiracy, and one of the best villains in the Rider films (Kamen Rider Caucasus). For the first time ever, I actually cared about Tendo. We watch him bleed, we watch him struggle, and despite his rough exterior and arrogant personality, we truly see why he's the hero. Granted, I saw the 65 minute cut, and would kill to see the uncut 80 minute version.

Five Riders vs. King Dark - My favorite of the old school Kamen Rider Movies. It's just a really fun action-packed romp, never slowing down and having some good ol' fashioned badguy bashing. Granted, this is the film that infamously retconned Riderman back to life, but even then his return is too cool to ignore. Frankenbat's a weird kaijin, but you gotta love the back missiles and awesome design. Just a lot of outlandish and crazy fun.

Runner up's "ZO." I found it a little dull, but Doras was one of the best, if not THE best, of the movie villains.

Kamen Rider ZO

the story might be simple, but the action scene were top notch. even for its time.
I first watched it when I'm around 5 years old, and the ZO image for Kamen Rider has been paved in my mind forever. Even surpassing Black (which is most of everybody's childhood)

Out of the ones I watched, W Forever immediately springs to mind. It starts off well with the fact that it doesn't for no reason at all try to be an alternate reality to establishes canon and things just really flow well.

Fourze's movie is also quite alright, if a bit thin on the plot-end.

My favorit KR Flicks are G4 and Episode Final, two well done movies with a good natural flow and added a Little extra to some of the characters. (Mana and Shinji)

ZO is another favorit of mine with a nice set of villains and great music side and not too forget Isao Sasaki. I would have loved a sequel instead of KR J.

The two Black movies are also highly entertaining.

My favorite Rider films are mostly from the Heisei era.

-Ryuki Episode Final
-555 Paradise Lost
-Kabuto God Speed Love
-Den-O Final Countdown
-Every Rider film directed by Koichi Sakamoto  I enjoyed all his movies so its hard for me to pick just one

I'd like to put a vote in for Hibiki and the Seven Senki. Very cool reference to Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, and I loved the historical setting and the prequel story to Takeshi.

- Hibiki and the Seven War Demons: Really awesome story, stand alone but it's one of those things you can still sort of force into working as the creation of Takeshi and the Oni/Human alliance. It's just a fun movie all around, a solid piece of work and at the time, the only Kamen Rider movie I absolutely loved.

- Gaia Memories of Fate: I love this one for two reasons. First, it looks amazing. It's got that awesome filter that gives it such a distinguished look from your typical Kamen Rider movie. Watching this was one of the few times I sat down for a tokusatsu series movie adaptation and actually thought it looked like a movie. Second reason, it's got this great message about what being a Kamen Rider means and the importance it has to the people of Fuuto.

- Movie Wars Mega Max: This one because it actually feels like the first true team up movie in such a long time. It may not be every single Rider brought together, but the ones that are there matter. I've always applauded this one for bringing back Double for one last hurrah.

- ZO: Totally forgot about this one for a moment, but I love it as well. It was my first Kamen Rider movie and has a special place in my heart for that. It's not the greatest plotted thing out there and definitely would have worked better over the course of the series, but it's a solid piece of action that I was had a sequel.

Agito's Project G4 and Ryuki's Episode Final is one that I really liked (due to being one that I first watched, but still good), A to Z (the suspense and action is very thrilling, I even can tolerate Akiko's existence in there), 555's movies (I admit there's some irregularity, but don't care much), God Speed Love (no comment much), Zeronos's movie(unexpextedly a good exposure love story of Yuuto-Airi),and for some reason even Megamax come into mind (really liked OOO's part in particular)

Haven't watched pre-Kuuga's movies actually. So dunno if there's any good one there. Any suggestion?
