Donald Glover wants to be Spider-Man

I didn't really care that Danny Glover was black and that he wanted to play Spider-Man.

When I read "Danny Glover wants to be Spider-Man," I thought about it from the perspective that he's just an actor.

Then I laughed...........because Danny Glover just isn't that good IMO LOL

Wait hold up! Don't you mean Donald Glover? :eyebrow:

****, that was a major typo and mis-understanding. Every time I see the name "Glover" and my brain is immediately program to output the name "Danny" before it. And I'm familiar with both Danny & Donald works respectively..........*sighs* Lemme go edit my post

lol at all the white people acting like black people can't be an everyman

I think the issue with that is (and this is probably the same issue that DC is currently having right now with all of their legacy characters) that non-whites seem to have a much easier time relating to white characters than vice versa. This is probably because the white race is seen as the "generic" race, so there wouldn't be any issues with ethnicity or culture, as most white heroes aren't typically portrayed as anything other than WASPs.

Chris Evans certainly doesn't look like Steve Rogers outside of... white. And I don't remember seeing you in the Last Airbender thread?

I never watched Last Airbender, so I barely know anything about about it, but I will say this, Last Airbender ISN'T iconic like Spider-man. Like I said before Spider-man is one of the most recognizable fictional characters in media today. Last Airbender doesn't even compare.

I want Peter Parker to actually look like Peter Parker. Glover isn't the right look, race, and I can't imagine him anymore as Peter Parker as I can see Michael Cera as Steve Urkel. There is too much hinging on this rebooted series, so much potential wasted with Raimi's three flicks that this reboot can make up for, do we really need to start of Sony's last chance with such a major unnecessary change like this?

 Speak up my man!!

Whatever happened to being faithful to source material. Spider man is an iconic changing his race for no reason than just because is alienating the General audience. You recognize these characters by their look, so when I see some black guy I'm not gonna say that's peter parker because that's not what peter parker looks like. And again we have black superheroes so use them. Black panther is just as much a character than spider man. I mean black panther is a scientist who and a king of a secret technologically advance nation who's symbol/title is that of a black cat, you could make that about a white guy too. And steel is a weapons maker who decides to fight crime and protect people from the weapons he created sound familiar (Iron Man). The black superheroes are just a much characters as Spiderman. We can take any current black superhero and not have their it be about their race, but the thing is people feel like they have talk about racism when they wright because it's the best opportunity and a great way to make philosophical statements about it. My point is characters are only about race if you make them that way, and instead of changing races for ionic characters use the actual black characters.

Did you not read my post you can make black panther not be about his race, I explain exactly who he is and not once bring up the fact that he is from Africa.

That's true, he doesn't look like Steve Rogers, but why can't we wait until the real picture release online soon? Maybe he'll look better?
