Nowhere there does it say that Dick is actually taking up the Mantle of Batman. In fact, at the end they call him Nightwing. Unless it becomes something like "oh dick destroys his Nightwing PErsona to become Batman. In which case, that's damn stupid
Just to be an ass, he took it from stories he had heard of at some point in time. The Nightwing persona was technically never his own in the first place :eyebrow: It was originally Superman's and a young Dick borrowed the name, and there's already a new Kryptonian Nightwing & Flamebird duo here (and maybe to stay). Besides its not the first time Dick passed on the Nightwing title. And it really would not make sense for him to continue being Nightwing when the Nightwing line is getting canned.
Just to be an ass, he took it from stories he had heard of at some point in time.
So I (Moronically) vote that the Original Nightwing was a time traveling Batman sent to Krypton.
Remember, just me being stupid.
Well actually during the original Kandor arc in days long ago. Superman lost his powers while in Kandor and he took on the name Nightwing while Jimmy Olsen became Flamebird. The stories Dick Grayson heard were true events to the DCU.
