Why is every good TV show Cancelled
I'm usually with you, Big, but:
Hitler- Christian
Stalin- Spiritualist
Mao Zhe Dong- Athiest
Che... No effing clue, I'd have to look it up
Whether Seculars agree or disagree that these people's actions are virtuous to their religion, it doesn't matter. Only what these en themselves believed. Stalin isn't a good example anyway because he believed spiritualism was real & only wanted to use what he could from it to gain more power & Mao couldn't give two shits one way or the other. He just wanted absolute power.
Hitler & Che, though, absolutely believed that what the were doing was right as far as their philosophies went. Also, Hitler wasn't communist. The USSR swallowed up half of Germany AFTER WWII. Most of Europe was forced into communism by the USSR, but broke free as soon as possible.
As an Athiest my philosophy is simple. Sins, to me, is anything you do that harms yourself or someone you care about because those things will torture you for the rest of your life on this planet. I will say, though, that my favorite author, Terry Goodkind, injected his Sword of Truth series with his own philosophy- even going so far as to having each story written as an illustration of that philosophy, like a parable of sorts, if you want to say that, to make them easier to understand, as they all sound simple, but are incredibly complex things all the same.
Basically:
1) Men only fear for two reasons- because they're afraid it's true, or they want it to be true.
2) The greatest harm can come from the best intentions.
3) Never let your emotions get between yourself & what you think is right.
4) Forgiveness can heal, as long as it's deserved.
5) Men's actions will show who they are more than their words.
6) Don't let someone talk you into doing something you think is wrong, no matter how much you respect them.
7) Live for the future instead of dwelling on the past.
8) Fight with every last breath to earn the things you want in life.
9) Contradictions don't exist in real life situations.
10) Willfully ignoring the truth is treason to oneself.
