Darkest/Best Ultraman series?

That is so damn true too. When you watch so much of it (especially raw) you slowly begin to forget certain things after awhile. I started noticing this early this year aswell.

I call it Tokuheimers: The Outcome of watching raw Tokusatsu for 12 years.

Same with me, I find that Super Sentai series are the ones that fade into one the easiest. There are SO many that look SO much alike, they fade to obscurity :redface2:

That's how I feel with Ultraman. And, honestly, there's still some Ultras I can't tell apart.

I know people often have that complaint with Kamen Rider (at least until Toei went overboard with the Heisei shows, often making them so oddball that you couldn't possibly mix them up). One that I don't understand is how people can mix up Kuuga and Agito -- they're not that close.

That's not necessary; it's no big deal, we were just joking around.

I don't know whether it's because I'm a bigger Ultra-otaku, but to me I could never get the most recent and even older Ultraman series mixed up.

The reason for me that Super Sentai is easier is because each series has many main characters, with Ultraman series there's usually only about 4 or 5 principal characters and 2 superheroes. It's easier to keep up with

To tell you the truth, a series isn't original or succeed in my book if you can't differentiate them. If a series is good, that won't happen, it'll stand out in your mind. Like for example, Den-O is so weird and original in 5 years I could never get it mixed up with another!

I think the really dark Ultra series are Ultraseven, Ultraman Leo, Ultraman Gaia, Ultraman Nexus, and even the latest Ultraseven X.

I have Ultraman Nexus, and I hope I can get the others I mentioned with good subtitles, as opposed to them being dubbed, I would settle for them in raw format if I could find a place that has them.

That's probably because they look so much alike, the Ultraman Jack costume looks almost like a redress of the original Ultraman costume  But I doubt it.

Yeah because it was suposed to be a remake of the Original Ultraman it was orginally called the Return of ultraman and was suposed to be a remake but it just added to the continuity instead sort of like Skyrider.

In fact, I've heard that the name Jack was chosen in a mail-in naming contest to Ultraman fans to come up with an official name to the Ultraman featured in Return of Ultraman. Well, Japanese boys in the 70s must've been mighty uncreative, because they came up with Jack! :P
