Darkest/Best Ultraman series?

Because it aired at like...7 in the morning?

The network chickened out at the last second when they were aiming to be the first prime time Ultra. Although I was wondering, weren't a few of the original shows aired at later time slots?

Wasn't most tokusatsu aired in prime time slots back then? I think they were aiming it to be not the first prime time ultra, just the first one without kids in mind.

Because I like my Tokusatsu when it's dark, epic, and dramatic. I can't sit around and take the slap stick comedy too much because I think it's garbage (not counting Den-O).

The big deal for me is when a Toku is like this I can get into it more.

You must not watch very much toku then. There are very very few toku's that are dark. And if you think that just because a toku has Slapstick comedy now and then, it can't be epic or dramatic well then you need to see more. One that jumps out is TimeRanger. There is some comedy in timeranger but i would consider it epic and dramatic.

The vast majority of the original tokusatsu series were broadcast between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm in Japan -- it wasn't until the late 1980s/early 1990s that they started bumping the remaining shows (Sentai and Metal Heroes) in the weekend morning timeslots. The shows from the 1960s and 1970s aired on different nights of the week, there were so many of them -- between 1971 and 1979, there were over 60 different superhero shows produced for television.

Those were the days. I think most people refuse to give the older shows a chance because people want the newest, or darkest, or fanciest thing.

I've only watched 10 episodes of Dekaranger, 2 1/2 episodes of Magiranger, 4 episodes of Kamen Rider Faiz. So I'm still very new to Tokusatsu. I love Beetleborgs though!.

Anyone want to fill this guy in for me?.

And either you didn't understand a word I said or ur reading skills need some brushing up on, bud.

Forever Knight owns, has watched, and has forgotten more tokusatsu than you'll ever know about, bubba!

That is so damn true too. When you watch so much of it (especially raw) you slowly begin to forget certain things after awhile. I started noticing this early this year aswell.

I call it Tokuheimers: The Outcome of watching raw Tokusatsu for 12 years.
