Darkest/Best Ultraman series?

What's wrong with mebius? It's the best UM show in years IMO. Also can some one tell me the obsession with "dark" shows. I mean people want dark sentai, dark kamen rider, dark ultraman. What is the big deal?

I was afraid that all Ultraman shows were like Mebius.

Please don't take this the wrong way; but that's like saying that all Sentai or Kamen Rider series are exactly like GEKIRANGER or KAMEN RIDER KABUTO.

If you don't try to sample everything, how do you know what it's like? When I was a kid, I wanted to see every Japanese superhero series I could get my hand on, and because of that, I have seen a lot of great entertainment -- I reserve judgment until I actually see the series themselves. Please give these shows a chance, people!

Not everyone wants "dark" series, but it is nice for a change when a series decides to be a little more "straight-faced" than the others -- I'm really not into the more comedic Sentai Series, and rather them be a little more serious (they don't have to be "dark"). Then again, I love IRON KING, which had a lot of comedic bits with the main characters, Gentaro and Goro.

I think there's room for all flavors, people. More flavors, more to love.

For me the best Ultraman series that i've seen so far are the 1st version,Ace and Tiga...:buttrock: For sure Ultra Seven is hands down the best Ultra series for some fans(i agree on this one)....Nexus was too dark that's why it didn't became popular in our country(reminds me of those newer gen KR shows) but that one was kinda ince IMHO..:thumbs:

Because I like my Tokusatsu when it's dark, epic, and dramatic. I can't sit around and take the slap stick comedy too much because I think it's garbage (not counting Den-O).

The big deal for me is when a Toku is like this I can get into it more.

i guess for me its that toku shows/superhero shows in general are always targeted towards a younger target audience. and i mean these people are saving the world for gods sake. you cant expect a task like that to be realistically so happy go lucky. i guess its not that i want the shows to be darker, but at least be a little down to earth about it, at least the parts concerning human emotions and reactions to such an enormous responsibility.

If you haven't already noticed from my posts in the past I'm ALL Gaiaaaaaa!!!!!! But, Tiga and Mebius were good to.

Nexus is HANDS-DOWN one of the best and darkest I've seen; not just of Ultraman, but of toku in general. I really can't understand why this series flopped; it's one of my all-time favorites! :buttrock:
