Boukenger Hate

Boukenger was so damn boring and lame. They don't have any story/plot at all. Nothing.

When I first saw Eiji in action and I thought he looked badass. After he became into BoukenSilver.... he was... meh. Boring.

I loved DaiBouken and it looked good. Super/Ultimate DaiBouken were horrible. Terrible and ugly design ever I've seen.

I think the problem is that it lacked a lot of possible fan basis on the most likable of all characters. Me, I felt that it didn't have a decent plot/storyline, there were a lot of dull characters such as Akashi/Bouken Red, Gordom Priest, Jaryuu King Ryuu-On, and Makino-Hakase. But I think Eiji/Bouken Silver and the Questers had the most unique story in the show. Natsuki was uberly the cutest Yellow senshi ever, Zuban was the bomb-diggidy and perhaps they made Souta-kun/Bouken Blue too much of a playboy and I think that was less camera time for each of the Negative Syndicate. Now the movie was cool, but Boukenger vs. Super Sentai was weak for me, no thanks to Aka Red, but I think they should have picked another female Veteran Sentai heroes for the Veteran roster like Deka Pink or Gao White in the place of Deka Break and have Gao Yellow in Magi Yellow's place.

That's about it.

I think as an anniversary series Boukenger could have delivered more with the characters and even some more arcs in the series. I'm not saying I hated it or anything, I enjoyed it alot more than other shows like Dekaranger and Magiranger.

I enjoyed Boukenger primarily because of Akashi, Souta, Natsuki and Sakura. I can't understand why Akashi is seen as being boring. He's a calm and composed leader! Unlike Jan, he didn't need to scream and yell out incomprehensible vocabulary to be interesting.

Granted, Gajah, Ryuuwon and Kaze no Shizuka were not the best villains ever. I couldn't take Gajah seriously and the final battle with him was quite an anticlimax. I expected Desperado to be the final villain. But no, Desperado was so f**king pathetic that Gajah was the final villain and that PROO didn't even bother using the Desperado suit.

Yaiba only comes out of his shell towards the end. I love his paper crane attack that is first shown in episode 9. As for the Questers- they were the best of the syndicates. They were arguably the most powerful and the most dangerous because of their Quester Robos and their maniacal personalities. Episodes 41 and 42 get my vote for the best episodes in the series!

Watching Boukenger I do realize some of its flaws. The objects came at random , though interesting legends that these were based on, and it was just waiting for the villains to finally go all out which they did in the finale. So yeah, not a great following story like Gekiranger

There were still good besides that. The combinations came out more smmothly than current incarnations. More importantly, this season had great character development and used its villains to further expand it.

[HIDE]Akashi-Ryuuwon= Questioning his capabilities as an adventurer, afraid to become like Ryuuwon

Masumi-Yaiba= This was vague, about him trying to man up to Akashi's standard without evil overtaking him.

Natsuki-Ryuuwon(he was shared)= Questioning her forgotten past and unseeable future and seeing how to live with them.

Souta-Shizuka= Questioning his corrupt past and being able to trust others

Eiji-Questers= Dealing with his inherited task and connections to the Questers.

Sakura= No villain to follow but she had to deal with opening up to her teammates and become less sturdy.[/HIDE]

Despite Gajah being the odd duck (Rarely involved, just took over when the others were wasted)the multiple villain factions helped fueled these developments and that was enough for me to enjoy the season. Out of all the seasons I've seen so far (Hurricanger-current, don't state about past seasons being better as I'll see for myself eventually) Boukenger had the most notable character growth when it was over. I still enjoy certain episodes for their humor content. It still holds as a favorable season for me though others can have their own opinions on it.
