I don't see any of the OOO suits as "minimalist"

Almost every part of their body is sculpted on, and very differently from each other. If you want "minimalist" you would have to look at something like the Kabuto suits, which are mostly bare from the waist down.

i guess i didnt phrase that too well the OOO suits are minimalist in terms of how they handle the "real estate" of the suit the suits stay primarily black with color only being added to emphasize the area the medal applies to. as far as rider suits go, OOO is exceptionally advante garde.

Um dude, I didn't say Tajador is special (though yes, there are reasons that it could be considered special, that it being associated with Ankh, a main character) I just said it looks special. The new helmet is not wasteful because who wants to buy another Taka head? And if it did have a Taka helmet it wouldn't be Tajador, it'd be, Tatoba with Kujaku and Condor on instead of Tora and Batta.

Plus Putotyra is pretty much a plot element, making it able to combine with other Medals would then be even more useless. (Though minimalist . . . you mean to tell me that Sagozo is minimalist?)

Though I do understand your complaint about it defeating the point of mixing and matching, but that's what you get when there's such a thing as Full Combo.

Though how is able to mix and match on the fly supposed to be considered Ultimate Form? That just sounds like OOO like he is already if they decided to make OOO lazy and powerful at the same time.

just my opinion but i feel like even though tajador is "ankhs" combo, it didnt HAVE TO look special and i meant that i thought the new taka head was wasteful because we had to recycle the batta legs and the tora claws, whay not the taka head?

SaGoZo while being bulky is still minimalist in the colors department, the legs and head obviously more so but the design for the fists are still really simplistic.

what i was trying to get at in terms of the final form was more like this:

"maki tries to take a big swing at OOO tatoba

OOO turns into SaGoZo and uses its bulkiness to take the blow

then maki goes to run away away

OOO changes to LaToraTah and chases after him and cuts him down

Maki quickly flies away

OOO turns into tajador and follows him

and so on and so forth"

a little more like that i think it would be interesting but thats just my opinion so no worries, its cool if you dont agree its just my opinion

The term your looking for is "aesthetic design"... I think...

Either way, the fact that PuTopTyra is so different from all the other Full Combos cements the idea that PuToyTyra is different than the others, taking the place for the series' "ultimate form"

In a way, it makes sense that the suit is white instead of black, since the Purple Medals are supposed to be the anti-thesis for the other Cores.

Why do people write PuTopTyra? I thought the To in PuToTyra stems from TOrikera, not the Tops in Triceratops . . . wasn't it?

OOO's combos have been written several different ways before the official name was released, so some people just write them how they are used to.

For example RaToraTa and RaToraTar, don't know which is the official but I used the former. Maybe use TaJaDor, but supposedly the official name is TaJaDol. I guess is similar to how some people pronounce W's name as the latter W and some as the world Double.

And yeah, the Toy was a typo.

Some personal disappointments:


Kamen Rider Kabuto -

The series in general. Kabuto is a big disappointment for me mostly for the fact that it has so many great concepts that are used so poorly. The "Masked" and "Rider" forms, the high speed "clock up" concept and the Worm infiltrating human society are all great ideas and I feel that in the right hands Kabuto could have made for an incredible series. Heck, I even LIKE the idea of Tendou as a character (and his relationship with Kagami). However, it seems like the writing team just wasn't up to the task. Everything is lost in the execution of the story.

People like to talk about what Rider series they'd like to see adapted for the US and honestly my number one pick would be Kabuto. I'd just really like to see those ideas get a second chance.


Kamen Rider Kiva -

Again, the series in general. The dual timeline concept could have made for some powerful storytelling, but in the end it just became a joke.

I think the worst part for me was that the story pulled all of its punches. There's a point in the series where IXA could have died off, really upping the stakes, but nope. Again, when the Fangire Queen (in 2008) is killed, we're initally made to think it was Wataru's fault and it should have stayed that way. It would have done some good to build his character, to actually have the hero have to face up to consequences ... but nope! Turns out she was really killed off screen by the bad guy ... and the hero gets off easy. UGH.

Also, the Arms Monsters (or whatever they were called) were a waste of space.


Kamen Rider OOO -

I wish the story was stronger in this series. It starts off pretty good, but by the mid point shifts to bland, at times even mediocre. The small cast doesn't help much. The small, focused "world" of OOO lacked depth and the conflict was almost a non-issue. The Greeed never felt like a serious threat after the first ten episodes or so and the way they get shoved aside for Doctor Maki towards the end made it even worse. I would have loved for Uva or Kazari to step up and be the "final villain" of the series

There was the whole thing about Hina having super strength that amounted to ... absolutely nothing.

I feel the only character that has any sort of arc is Gotou, with him changing his stance on Eiji and then training to become Birth. The rest are all pretty static.



Ultraman Nexus -

The early cancellation of the series and the cancellation of the N Project in general. Ultraman Nexus is one of the best written shows I've seen, period. It deserved a full run.

 

[Solid Snake]

The toku disappointments that really saddened me were KR THE FIRST and THE NEXT. They had good suits, good stunts, and a good budget. The problem was that their stories were just half assed. So half assed that I'm ashamed of showing them to my friends as an intro to Tokusatsu. Their supposed attempt at being "mature" or whatever the hell they had in mind just completely ruined the storylines for these movies.


P.S: I'd like to see more Kamen Rider G. Maybe put in some AKB48 too, so we'd have SMAP and AKB together.
