I only bring up the race issue because Wonder Woman is one of the whitest comic book characters I can think of, just because of the time in which she was created and the characteristics she exhibits because of this. It would just be like having a black Superman. It's not bad... it's just not right.

But I'm not sure she's right for the part at all basically for the same reasons most have stated.
I'll also be the first to admit that the landscape of American superheroes does suffer from a little too much vanilla and it's natural for people to have a desire to see heroes that look like themselves a bit. Even a white guy like me.
I remember as a kid for awhile thinking there were no superheroes with blond hair because most of the heroes I'd seen had either black or brown hair. So when I discovered Captain America and Thor it was kind of awesome. Steve Rogers even had a cowlick in his hair kinda like mine (This was Jack Kirby's rendition of him).
I guess it's like I sure as hell don't want to rob anyone of being able to identify with these heroes. But something about changing a white character to a black character doesn't seem quite right either.
But then again, what if another African-American actress came along and basically had everything the part needed? Who are any of us to take that away from them?

Yeah, but ultimately, DC would have to make that final decision, and I honestly don't see them going down that particular road with Beyonce. Someone else who had all the right qualities, yes. But not Beyonce.
