Here's another one, which I've tried bringing up befoire here but didnt get any replies, it was 'Round The Bend, a mulit-animation "video comic" presented by bombastic boss "Doc Crock" which contained parodies of popular franchises and genres and spoofed Saturday mourning shows, it aired on CITV back in the 80s and 90s

I have to agree. Round the Bend is an underrated classic.
I think there where two versions of Owl TV. One that aired in Canada and one that aired in the UK. I remember Michaela Strachan being the presenter of the UK version.OWL TV UK - YouTube

Ah yes!! I always thought it was somewhat English. So basically it's a British adaptation of the Canadian original kinda like Power Rangers was an adaptation of Super Sentai (except they kept the original theme song).

Michaela Strachan looked cute (at the time).

Hokey storyline and Wolverine's Australian accent aside, this was the best-animated X-Men cartoon ever made. At least until the recent X-Men anime came out.

Michaela was a "Diva" of Kids TV in the 80s, she was on everything, from Owl TV to "Hey Hey, It's Saturday" and "Wacaday" ( with Timmy Mallet, god forbid), she's still pretty nice looking

Whilst the likes of Going Live! are fondly remembered by us Brits, ITV had a poorer track record (though they finally gained a huge audience with 1998's SMTV: Live), with barely any of their Saturday mourning output finding an audience that remembered their blocks, one of their many shows was "Ghost Train", which tried to tell a serialized adventure story whilst simotaniously fulfilling the needs of a Saturday Mourning variety show with celebrity guests and cartoons

So she was like Britiain's equivalent to France's Dorothée! Dorothée ruled the kids morning shows, she was the one who introduced Dragonball to the French kids among other classics. Ya know she had a guest appearance in Liveman? Bioman was pretty big in France back then apparently.

Man that Ghost Train show looked pretty cool.

My generation here in Quebec is more or less defined by this one saturday morning Radio-Canada show:

(you can stop when they stop talking :p )

Lots of classic cartoons aired as part of this block.

There was also this one classic public TV educational show that started in the 70s:

This kid show is so well remembered they actually had DVD releases and a CD with professional singers remaking their songs!
And the defunct Canal Famille channel though you needed to have cable so it's not as universal.

Intro to Saturday Ghost Train - YouTube

I used to like Timmy Mallett when I was a kid!! I always wanted to be on Mallett's Mallet but I never got the chance, plus I don't think my parents would let me because my mum hates Timmy Mallet (but she never had any better taste anyway).

But yeah, Michaela Strachen is cute. Or WAS cute at least. The 80's was such an awesome time. A time when girls with daft hair were cute!! BRING BACK THE 80'S!!!

So she was like Britiain's equivalent to France's Dorothée! Dorothée ruled the kids morning shows, she was the one who introduced Dragonball to the French kids among other classics. Ya know she had a guest appearance in Liveman? Bioman was pretty big in France back then apparently.

It's a shame Michaela Strachen never introduced Tokusatsu to the UK. Still we can forgive her, as long as she has the cute (daft) hair she's still got the Really Wild Show (Pun intended :p).

Wouldn't it be great if we had Liveman or Kamen Rider BLACK on Wacaday? Imaging Timmy Mallet doing a Henshin pose?!! That would be awesome!!

Oh man!! I can't believe I am so obsessed with Owl TV!! What's gone into me? I'm surposed to be a Tokusatsu fan but Owl TV's surposed to be an Educational show about animals and wildlife. Maybe it's the theme tune that's attracted me back to it.

Just recently I learned that Owl TV is actually based on the Canadian magazine. It still exists today and has been around since the 70's.

I think they should do a new series for Owl TV. They should have the Owl mascot present the show, and we could watch all these wild animals in High Definition. Wouldn't that be cool? Oh and they should keep the old theme tune!!

What are you talking a-HOOT? LOL!!

Meanwhile, does anybody remember this show?

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDAd_LZotDg&NR=1"]Alfred Jodocus Kwak - Intro - Japans - YouTube[/ame]

I used to watch the German version on ZDF. I had NO idea it was a Japanese Anime. Alfred J Kwak was actually originally a Dutch cartoon character but in Japan they based an Anime series around him.

Thought I'd also share with you some German kid's TV.

Bim Bam Bino.
Basically a German talking mouse, and his sister Lucy who is actually a cat. They don't normally get along with eachother. BBB also had many German dubs of Japanese Anime (no Tokusatsu I'm afraid), and some from the USA.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UI_QYW5ACgU"]Bim Bam Bino (Tele 5 & Kabel 1) - YouTube[/ame]

The female presenter is called Gundis, but she later left the show and was replaced by Sonja and some other presenters.

Bim Bam Bino used to be on Tele 5, and Tele 5 later became off the air due to lack of funding. The somehow gave BBB to Der Kabal Kanal (later renamed Kabel 1). Bim Bam Bino eventually came to an end in 1998. Tele 5 returned back on the air in 2002-ish and is still on air now but unfortunately Bim Bam Bino has yet to return. With very few BBB clips on YouTube it seems BBB has a very small fanbase.
