<3 Love/Romance Advice, and Tips <3

did you read the rest of the part or did you stop and reply?

-_-

here let me help you

there is not such thing as "significant" other when the girl is tire of the guy and decides to leave him

when the girl is tire of the guy...as in...they were not meant to be together, there would be a significant other if there would be no cheating and not breaking up.

I had a "Jessie's Girl" situation myself once.

Whe where good friends and she began dating this guy.
I felt...to quote the song "Jessie's got himself a girl and i want to make her mine". I wanted to tell her, but i knew it would make our friendship awkward, maybe beyond repair.

Anyway, thy eventually had quite a messy break-up and she was left quite vulnerable. I didn't try to move in on her since that would be scummy on my part. I comforted her as a friend and left it at that.

Interestingly she later asked me out and we did date for awhile. We would likely still be together had she not had to move away for a job.

Sometime's karma can be both kind and cruel.....

I know Mr. Yellow...I'm just saying that is kinda wrong...unless it was a bad relationship, but is like saying goodbye to your friend if you do...that or you can stay as friends but be really uncomfortable.

Saying what is wrong? All I said was I had feelings for her but she was dating my friend, I never said I broke them up.

no...I'm saying that it would be wrong if someone tries to break up your friend's relationship.

I don't know if that's clear enough. I never said you did, I read what you posted. you waited like a good gentleman.

I guess my question is, what's an acceptable amount of time to wait in that situation?

In situations like that there no set "time". It really depends on the girl. Some girls can get over stuff pretty quickly, some it takes longer. You just have to be intuitive to how she's feeling. And remember that sometimes girls are hiding if they're hurting about something. Try to offer her a one-on-one hangout in a lighthearted way. If she's down for it and has fun during the hang out, then it might be ok to move forward.

You've been a fairly lousy source of advice in this whole thread

Glad someone said it.

and have I seen you help? or are you the ones that are asking for help?

He can read it to learn advice. It doesn't take a love expert to realize you are not offering very healthy advice.

You're very good for not being a scum on that.

That's also a great way to handle that situation. It's all about respect. If she had a bad break up, you respect her by not rushing in and being a scum bag. You took a VERY respectable approach and while the outcome wasn't really the best, it does speak well to your character

healthy advise, depends how you see it

as for my current relationship, I'm happy, she is happy, and 16 months tomorrow. can't do anything with her till friday when I can finally see her.

this reminds me of when before I used to date, I had this awesome and great friend, her name was Jesse, one day one of my friend's ask her out and she said yes...I had a crush on her, but I never really told her, I just went over it, about 3 months later, she was going to move and she broke up with my friend, one day we started talking a week before she left and she told me she had a crush on me since middle school, she said she went out with my friend because she dint know how I felt. I felt so bad...so we dated for about a week to see how things would have gone and then she left. from this moment on I realize that if you want someone and you know she is single...ask, she might like you and say yes.
