Free League Publishing is about to launch their next big RPG: Forbidden Lands. It was promised before the end of 2018, and Free League has now confirmed the date: December 6.
In Forbidden Lands, you and your friends will be playing raiders and rogues bent on making your own mark on a cursed world. Discover lost tombs, fight horrifying monsters, wander the wilderness and, if you live long enough, build your own stronghold to defend.
The Blood Mist has begun to lift, the curse that has been sucking the life out of anyone who dared stray too far from their hearth. Now treasure hunters and scoundrels will soon begin to enter the lands.
Do you dare travel into the unknown unbound by any fate or story set for you? Will you hunt for ancient treasures, fight whomsoever gets in your way and build a new world for yourself on the ruins of the old? Will you be one of the raiders of the Forbidden Lands?
Prepare to make your mark on a cursed world. Will you survive long enough to tell the tale?
With the core set of Forbidden Lands, you will get the Player’s Handbook and the Gamemaster’s Guide, both in hardcover with leather and gold designs…plus a full-color map, a sheet of map stickers, and a booklet of tables. The most intriguing thing about Forbidden Lands is that the map you play on will change depending on your actions…some decisions you make may permanently affect the game.
Forbidden Lands was crowdfunded in 2017 with the third-biggest RPG Kickstarter campaign in the world that year. It contains art by Simon Stålenhag and Nils Gulliksson, lore by fantasy author Erik Granström, and scenarios by game writers Patrick Stuart, Ben Milton and Chris McDowall.
Check out Forbidden Lands next month — it should be available in hobby stores nationwide.
