At Last, A Release Date For Battle Princess Madelyn
We know when Battle Princess Madelyn is coming out! Casual Bit Games’ long-in-development sidescroller will at last be ours December 6.
Funded on Kickstarter last year, Battle Princess Madelyn is a hard-as-nails retro sidescroller in the spirit of Ghosts and Goblins and other such titles. There’s an actual Madelyn out there — a 7-year-old was involved in the creation of this game and inserted a royal version of herself into this fantasy world. The game was originally scheduled to see release much earlier in 2018, but thankfully, it will be released before the year is over.
“It’s been an exciting, exhaustive, stressful, enjoyable, frustrating, etc. period over the last two years developing Battle Princess Madelyn and I would do it all over again,” says Christopher Obritsch of Causal Bit Games. “The feedback that has been given in the creation of the game, the positive remarks, the way social media, the specialist gaming press, etc. have supported the game throughout this long period has been nothing short of remarkable.
“The end result is a game the team are all proud of and went beyond what was envisioned. Within a very short time gamers will be able to play Battle Princess Madelyn. I hope it will give them as much enjoyment as it has to the team that created it!”
Perhaps the game too so long because it’s going to be released for just about every active console, and even a few that aren’t. Battle Princess Madelyn will be out for Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC December 6, followed by versions for Wii U and PS Vita in 2019. If you’ve still got a Wii U, here’s something to play on it!
