Elizabeth Olsen Wants Scarlet Witch Solo Film, Suggest House Of M Storyline
Next year, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will get its first female-led film in Captain Marvel. And rumors have been building that Black Widow could finally be getting a solo film as well. Now, Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch in the MCU, is making her own pitch for a solo film. The best part is that she’s banking on the Fox/Marvel merger to go through so that she can bring one of the biggest X-Men stories of all time to life…House of M.
“I would love to [do a standalone], and I would love it to be House Of M, which is a comic book series of The Vision and Scarlet Witch having a make-believe family,” she told Metro. “Then they [Vision and her family] have to tell her that she was make-believing the entire time, and she has a very traumatic experience and screams, and kills all the mutants – but that’s an X-Men story so we’d have to adjust the ending,”
Now, technically, she didn’t “Make-believe” it all up. Her brother Quicksilver, convinced Wanda to recreate the world in a way to “make everyone happy”. She interpreted this as putting her father, Magneto, in charge of a word dominated by Mutants. When she found out the truth about what happened, she blamed mutantkind for making her this way, and she said, “No More Mutants”, which reduced the mutant population from millions to just a few hundred. An event that would have serious implications on the X-Men for many comic years to come.
So, could we see this as a solo film? Sure, especially if the merger goes through. But with rumors saying it won’t happen until 2019 now, that could put a huge delay on a potential Scarlet Witch movie.

Wanda isn’t nearly as powerful in the movies as she is in the comics. They would have to power her up a LOT to do something like House of M.
