Paradox Interactive and Triumph Studios have launched Planetfall, the latest chapter in their ongoing Age of Wonders strategy series.
A galactic empire has finally fallen, and from the ashes you will build your own, hopefully less evil one (though that’s really up to you, isn’t it?) To get from point A to B, you’ll have to fight other factions with the same ambitions as your own. Fortunately, you have some pretty cool choices to build your army, from cyborg zombies to amazons riding dinosaurs with laser cannons. Nothing is too subtle for your faction!
In Planetfall, emerge from the cosmic dark age of a fallen galactic empire and build a new future for your people. Build your empire with one of six unique factions, ranging from the militant Vanguard to the dinosaur-riding Amazons and the cyborg-zombies of the Assembly. Progress through each faction’s missions using your wits, military strength and diplomacy, exploring planetary ruins and encountering other survivors as you unravel the history of a shattered civilization. Fight, build, negotiate and technologically advance your way to utopia in a deep single player campaign, on random skirmish maps, and against friends in multiplayer via online, hotseat, and asynchronous modes.
“It’s incredible to launch Planetfall as our first project together with the team at Triumph,” says Ebba Ljungerud, CEO at Paradox Interactive. “The Age of Wonders series is well-known within the turn-based strategy community for its broad variety of tools at the player’s disposal to wreak havoc or negotiate peace. We’re really looking forward to seeing what kind of empires our players create.”
Age of Wonders: Planetfall is available now on Playstation 4, XBox one and PC via Steam. The regular edition costs $49.99, the deluxe edition (with extra DLC and an additional scenario planet) costs $49.99, and the premium edition adds in the price of three upcoming expansions for $89.99.
