Yooka-Laylee To Be Bigger Than Banjo-Kazooie?
Riding the wave of successful video game creators pitching “spiritual successors” to titles they were famous for via Kickstarter, many developers from Rare left the company so that they could try and make the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie. Not only did they succeed, fans flocked to their Kickstarter to help get the crew what they needed to make the game.
The team recently took to a Reddit AMA and talked with fans for a while both about themselves and what they could expect from Yooka-Laylee. One of the key questions was about how long the title would be, they responded by noting they hoped that Yooka-Laylee would actually be bigger (game time wise) than Banjo-Kazooie was. Which is not an insubstantial amount of time.
This question however led to the question about whether the title would come to Xbox One or PS4, creative lead Gavin Price took point and answered with this:
“We would love to be able to do it at some point if we can, but for launch it would mean having to finish the game 2 months earlier in order to get the discs printed,” he said. “We want more time to make the game!”
That’s a very good answer in my mind, cause when things get rushed or mishandled? Especially in Kickstarter projects? Things go downhill. And it’s clear that the crew at Playtonic want nothing more than to see Yooka-Laylee succeed.
