West Of Dead Launches Open Beta On XBox One
Of all the games Microsoft showed off during their Inside XBox Presentation in London this week, Raw Fury’s West Of Dead was one of the most interesting-looking. This twin-stick shooter uses a scratchy rendering style that reminds us of a Hellboy comic….or maybe that’s the fact that Ron Perlman is providing the voice of the title character.
The year is 1888. You’re a cowboy from Wyoming who wakes up with a flaming skull for a head and little memory of where he came from or how he got to where he is. Unfortunately, he happens to be in Purgatory, which implies he died. But, lucky for him, he somehow got to take his sharpshooters with him. The nameless man — wait, he has a name, William Mason — must now blast through a gauntlet of procedurally generated chambers filled with monsters to get back home.
Thrown into the unknown procedurally generated hunting grounds of Purgatory, your skills will be put to the test as you shoot and dodge your way through the grime and grit of the underworld. West of Dead evolves the twin-stick shooter with tactical cover usage, find out if you have what it takes to get through Purgatory with your soul intact.
Under the right circumstances, you can play West Of Dead RIGHT NOW. All you need is an XBox One, and you can play the open beta until November 25. Head to this link to test it out. The full game is coming to Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC and, yes, XBox One in 2020.
