Pokemon Go has just launched in Japan alongside a massive McDonald’s sponsorship deal but millions of players around the world are still trying to get as much information about the game – specifically about the legendary Pokemon such as Mewtwo, Mew, and the legendary birds.
With speculation about exactly how to unlock these rare monsters and other features flooding forums and communities around the web, Pokemon Fortress have datamined the game to discover a host of previously unknown information. Obviously, it’s important to not take everything from the data as gospel, as Niantic could easily change any of it with updates at any time, but it is the best source of knowledge we have on the game so far.
One of the most interesting finds from the datamine is that the level cap for Pokemon Go is set at 40 for the time being. This will mean players have to get 20 million experience to reach the cap and will need 5 million just to go from 39 to 40.
The other interesting discovery is that Mewtwo, Mew, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are in the game and have a spawn rate. However, they don’t have a catch rate, which suggests that players may have to go to a special event or do a certain action to be able to capture them. This may be tied into the master ball that Pokemon Fortress also found was in the app.
Some of the other information includes:
- Eggs cap at level 20
- Pokemon cap at level 30
- Some incubators may reduce the distance needed to hatch eggs
- Each Pokemon has its own unique catch and flee rate
- Moves have their own accuracy and critical hit rates
- Achievements and badges go past the gold level
