Nine To Five Coming Next Year From Redhill Games
After seeing the trailer for Redhill Games’ Nine To Five appear during the Game Awards last night, you probably have a few questions….such as “what even is this?”
Redhill took the unusual step of devoting half the trailer’s sixty seconds to a fakeout, showing off a looney-looking Fortnite ripoff starring AK-47-toting bunnies…before pulling back to reveal it was something being displayed on a monitor and the REAL game’s starts were realistic humans dressed in black. And…that’s all the information that was given.
More important info, like what kind of game this is and how you play it, was saved for the press release. Nine to Five, it turns out, is a tactical multiplayer FPS. Each round will consist of teams of three, and your objectives will constantly change. The way to win is by outsmarting your opponent. “Every round influences the next, ratcheting up the tension and forcing players to constantly adapt their strategy to win,” says the PR.
“A lot of modern shooters are often too chaotic and random to really let you enjoy them,” explains Redhill Games CEO Matias Myllyrinne. “With Nine to Five, we’re challenging players with creative new mechanics to bring back that classic feeling of playing with friends, finding your role, and working together to outplay the competition.”
This would have been interesting to see, but…we got bunnies. If the goal was to get us talking, though, mission accomplished. Nine to Five enters alpha testing next year; you can sign up at https://www.ninetofive.game to be one of the first to play.
