Halo 5 Opening Cinematic, Nathan Fillion Returns
The next installment of the Halo franchise with Halo 5: Guardians is almost here. 343 Industries and Xbox have gone ahead and released the opening CG cinematic for the game to whet fans’ appetites for the Halo game season. You can check out the new video in the player below.
The new video features the new character for the franchise, the Spartan Locke, along with the rest of the Fireteam Osiris. The group receives UNSC orders to recover a high value target and deploy to take on Covenant and Promethan forces in a fierce action sequence. 343 Industries hopes to deliver the most ambitious, robust and epic Halo single-player campaign experience of all time. This opening cinematic is just the very start.
One of the best things about the video is the return of the incredible Nathan Fillion as Edward Buck from Halo: ODST. Seeing him back in a Halo video game is a welcome treat. Not to mention the fact that the adaptation of his own physical likeness for Buck that has been updated for Halo 5 is uncanny. It will be interesting to see what role he will take for the rest of the single-player campaign as well.
Halo 5: Guardians is due out on October 27, and it will be available exclusively for the Xbox One console.
