Dark Horizons has a bit of info that reveals that High School Musical's Zac Efron is currently in talks to play Speed Racer himself in the Wachowski Bros. adaptation of the classic series.

...should I buy a new monitor now or later? Because I feel the urge to bash my head through this one at this point.

I've come to the conclusion that the Wachowskis, just like Steve Wang, butcher whatever good idea comes along. Then again, I didn't really think a Speed Racer movie was a good idea.

Wow, Zac=Speed? now that's totally cool. I bet that he'll send in Vanessa Hudgens or Ashley tisdale as his love interest (joking only).

But, we'll have to find out later on if he'll get the role...
