Both have their advantages. I don't regret either purchase. It's true that most games don't come close to touching the power that the ps3 is capable of, particularly the multi console ones since most are developed with the 360 in mind, then ported from there to the ps3. If you're mostlyy thinking about multi plat form games (and I don't know what you play outside of nba2k) You're probably going to get more out of a 360 just because it has a more active online community from what I've noticed (though I prefer playing my Fifa games on the ps3 personally)
360 has the added advantage of having a partnership with netflix allowing for conveniently streaming movies from their servers, while ps3 has the added advantage of being a moderately priced BD player if you want one of those.
But what it really comes down to is the exclusives. That's the deal maker for any console purchase in the end. PS3 has some nice exclusives on the way this year like inFamous and Among Thieves. For the record, for long term gaming sessions I definitely find the ps3's controller more comfortable.
