X-Men 3: The Last Stand - Talkback *Spoilers*

These movies are supposed to be semi reallistic, treating mutantkind on a scientific and political level of realism, the lack of any cosmic powers and giving Jean a split personality was ten times more original than what Chris Claremont ever came up with for Phoenix. X-Men is'nt Star Trek, I don't have a clue what he was smoking when he wrote those storylines. As good as they were, it was'nt X-Men. To this date I still think the first 616 Universe Phoenix origin is one of the most idiotic Marvel still stick with.

X-Men: Evolution also toyed with Jean's Phoenix-like powers being just an upgrade in Jeans' mutation, but they never produced the season where this power manifested itself again

....Actually....no. This sounds a lot like what I saw in Ultimate X-Men. It was slightly amusing then ('cause of what happened with the whole Professor snapping on her thing), but its just stupid now. Do it right, or don't bother. I find it more realistic that its a cosmic force that gives her powers to make Galactus quake in his boots than what's really no more than a simple secondary mutation. WTF is that. Yeah, I know this is a world of eye-lasers, regen factors and "I'm Juggernaut, bitch" but that's just ridiculous to me.

Well, I just watched this awesome movie yesterday afternoon. The starting part was nice, where Charles and Eric were still friends. It was a nice touch to see Jean lifting the things outside her house! :laugh:

Later where they show Angel trying to cut his angel wings off (I can't remember his name because I just call him "Angel"). I really felt sorry for him as he was crying and boy, his father was so desperate to cure him.

Okay, they made Cyclops look like some useless character. In the first and second movie, he did nothing. In this movie, they simply just killed him off in the earlier part?! :bawling:

As for Wolverine, I really like how he looks in this movie. He also plays the hero in here, I'm really impressed! And near the end, I knew he was gonna tell Jean he loved her but I wasn't expecting him to kill her! h34r:

The most hateful character in this movie is obviously Jean Grey. Everytime she starts acting violent, you just wanna go up to her and just stab her mercilessly. When she killed Professor Xavier, I just wanted to strangle her! And surprisingly, my bro told me that after the ending credits, there was a clip showing Xavier inside that patient's body! O_O

Storm is starting to become my favourite X-Men, the way she fought in here was intense! I was telling my bro that Halle Berry is better as Storm than Catomwan! :laugh: Shadowcat was another one of my favourite, especially the part where she went through walls but the pathetic Juggernaut just smash through them! :laugh: :laugh: My third favourite would be Angel of course, his wings are really beautiful.

How about other characters? Well, although they introduced Angel and Shadowcat, they didn't play such a big part in here and that was very disappointing. Beast, however, was awesome! Even wearing some suit that looks funny on him! :laugh:

As for the villains, Pyro is HOT just like his powers. I didn't seem to like the other villains, they look horrible.

Overall, I love the actions in this movie but I didn't like how it was made out. Everything seems so rushed yet I felt like it was too short.

Sometimes the right way is the wrong way. I know expensive, over-the top ludicrous crap like the original origin is going to please some virgins, but for god's sake, stick true to what the movies have already done, to great success.

Well... looks like we're gonna have to wait for X-Men 4. Fox has confirmed that there is gonna have a fourth film.

The movies haven't done anything that would make it totally impossible to have done it right. And how is it realistic that a secondary mutation would give you powers on that level? It sounds ridiculous, like I said.

The "Here Comes Tomorrow" storyline in New X-Men touched on that. Jean had undergone a secondary mutation that enabled her to use all the cosmic power of the Phoenix without being corrupted by it. Plus, her "Omega-Level" mutation, which made her the perfect host for the Force (established in Phoenix:Endsong). But unlike in X3, Jean didn't just suddenly gain these powers out of nowhere.

Like I said before, the split-personality crap was dumb as hell. If the Phoenix Force had possessed Jean or just replicated her, it would've made sense. The whole concept smacks of Ultimate X-Men and I utterly LOATHE anything that has Ultimate in the title.
