Wizard Opinions Thus Far?

With humor as well, there are parts where I do actually laugh or get a chuckle from something, but with fourze its forced humor. Something like "HERE SOMETHING FUNNY! LAUGH! LAUGH!"

Did you see this week's episode, which had a lot of exaggerated/slapstick stuff? If you don't like that style of comedy, you probably will prefer Wizard, but it still has moments where it's on the level of Fourze in that respect

i think we are forgetting the white wizard driver being released in may, meaning mayu could be the third rider/white wizard.

overall, i like wizard overall as show but for the toys it's an overkill spamming in the show, i know it's for bandai getting money but it can executed better in the show.

Wizard, even with its problems, has had more plot then fourze had in its entire series.

Seriously? I won't pick on someone for taste. sometimes a show's sense of humor or characters just doesn't click with you. That's fine.

But Fourze literally had more plot in both its introductory arc and Meteor arcs alone than Wizard has had in its entire first thirty-odd episodes. In fact, Fourze had completed two plot arcs by this point in the show, while absolutely none of the questions raised in Wizard have been developed or answered.

If you simply find raising questions entertaining, that's fine, but there's a big difference between dangling a bunch of plot threads and having any sort of developed narrative. While I'd like to be proved wrong, I imagine most of the questions Wizard has raised will go unanswered by the show's end, just do to all the time the show is choosing to waste.

Villain-wise the phantoms are somewhat co-herent, where Sagittarius give him back his belt, and even though he knows who fourze its lets him go on his merry way.

This is just a case of Fourze's villain not being a type of villain you liked. Sagittarius was a well-done honorable, human villain who is following a very specific agenda. He does not necessarily view the hero as his foe, and killing Fourze would not have advanced his plan until the very end of the series (where he tries it and fails). Gamou's just not going to behave like the Phantoms, who are clearly a more traditional type of Rider villain.

Here is a question, why did Sargittarius not just do his plan at the beginning of the fourze movie? He had all twelve switched.

Maybe you should actually watch the movie? Because Gamou didn't actually have all twelve switches in the film. The Replica Horoscope Switches were, IIRC, used by Inga Blink to create a distraction so she and Black Knight could get aboard the shuttle. Gamou is consistently opposed to what the villains of the film are doing, since it is counter to his personal agenda, and he chooses to help Fourze beat them at the end of the movie.

To make a long story short, wizard can be a lot better yes, but I am enjoying it a hell of a lot more then fourze.

Right, and you're just proving my point. There is no version of Fourze, no matter how good it was, that you would've liked. You clearly just have problems with what the story wanted to be about. On the other hand, Wizard is suitably to your tastes that you can enjoy it despite it not being very well-done at all.

I didn't like Fourze at first, but thanks to Lynxara and a few others I kept with it, and I am damn glad I did. Fourze turned out to be really fun. My only problem with it was I hated the Fourze movie.

Wizard was fun at first for me, and I was excited for the concept... But it all came crashing down with beast and the complete lack of story direction. I mean I am pretty forgiving of these shows.. But I have a limit to how far down they can drag things.

Those weren't the real Horoscope Switches, just "dummy" versions (like the Greeeds in Megamax).

i agree accept i like beast but the lack of story direction is from spamming toys/forms in every episode.

the lack of story direction is from spamming toys/forms in every episode.

It's from spamming toys/form without making them relevant to the story. They could make Wizard's progression of power actually part of the storytelling, like Kuuga did. Wizard even seemed like it would have the tools to do that without changing the story much with the way several characters seemed interested in Wizard's growth, so making it plot relevant should be easy. But... it just hasn't done that.

We get some cryptic comments related to Wizard's growth between long stretches, but otherwise Wizard's growth seems to be completely ignored by the script - like how he's still fighting just random phantoms exactly like in the beginning of the show and Wizard's growth seems to have no weight by itself. We likely will get a pay off near the ending, answering some mysteries like Wizemen's interest in Wizard, but I don't think that'll magically fix all the previous episodes. I'm also starting to think that some build up will end up meaningless (Like the one time Gremlin gave a magical stone for one of Wizard's dragon forms. The way the story is progressing right now, I won't be surprised if that's a dropped plotline).

Completing two arcs is iffy at best. Yes ryusei’s arc did end, badly but it did end. Ryusei’s actions made to very unlikable, from killing gen for no apparent reason on then impatience, to his random psychotic moments. Was the second arc cancer? If that was the case then that was a very short and not needed arc. Cancer pretty much came in, said puns, and left. He did try and reveal ryusei’s identity, but I would not be surprised, how bland the rest of the crew and there intelligence is, they would have believed it even when given proof. As far as wizard not answering questions yet, we still have I bet 16-17 episodes left. Still time to explain. Unlike fourze who just through almost all of it into the last 4 episodes.

And you know this how? Like I said we still have 16-17 episodes left. Kinda early to make those assumptions isn’t it?

So being honorable makes you stupid? If that is the case then yes, stupid villains are not to my liking. Think this for a second, if he did not want to kill fourze because of your reasons, then why did he let the base get destroyed? By your reasoning that would make no sense. My reasoning is that he saw it as a threat, and got rid of it. Which still makes him an idiot since just got rid of the hidehout and the not his main problem, fourze. IDC if a villain is honorable, but I just want some form of intelligence. Also, how is letting kids fight your battles honorable?

Alright I must have missed that part. Still, did they ever explain why they couldn’t use them for that purpose? They never said he couldn’t. Again, this is an example of bad plot, not explain how things work. It could have been as simple as “There not as strong and can’t take it.” See, simple as that. Though they did it again with the crew stuck at the m-bus, no explanation to what they are doing. Fell bad for people who liked them since they never got closure to what happened to them.

Right, and you're just proving my point. There is no version of Fourze, no matter how good it was, that you would've liked. You clearly just have problems with what the story wanted to be about. Now your just putting words in my mouth. How do you know no version would satisfy me? Do you know me personally? Do you know what I do and don’t like before my last post was even made? Again, how did you know this? IDC if a show is light hearted (my favorite sentai being go-onger, and loving all of kyoryuger so far), but I do care if a show has bad plot and characterization, which fourze has a lot of. The crew just comes in with their intro arc, maybe have on more arc, and done. Take yuki example, we wanted to go to space and…………….. IDK. When we got to the Gemini arc, I could care less for her since knowing barely anything about her and the fact she had her annoying antics. Another example is Shun, during that prom arc he was trying to win back mui’s heart cause he loves mui and………….IDK. Now you could say it was early in the show, but even after that he was just the guy who piloted Power Dizer and nothing much else.

Most of this post just seems mean spirited at times, with the last being words shoved into my mouth. I did really want to like fourze. I loved the idea of a space theme, and a high school theme kamen rider. It had the writer from gurren lagann, one of my favorite animes. Though with that said, I went in with a open mind, and with no expectations, and this is what I pretty much thought of it. Wizard is not perfect by any means, but fourze is not even sub-par.

Wizard's "plot", so far, is basically a worse version of Fourze's. Every plot point from Fourze has been done in Wizard, except in a subtler fashion:
1. Gathering allies. Fourze was able to establish specific roles for his allies. Wizard's allies are a random bunch, who you kinda wished acted their age for once.
2. Hero trying to come into grips with his powers. There's more a sense of danger in Wizard than in Fourze. However, Fourze actually purposely tried to hurt himself just to harness some of his powers. Plus he's constantly shown practicing them (and getting hurt in the process)
3. Strong pesky villain who was a problem for both the enemies and the main Rider. Cancer/Phoenix. Cancer didn't just "come in and made some puns", he was much more brutal than that (e.g. sucking out souls). Phoenix was an entirely different breed though. Just pure uncontroballe power.
4. Secondary Rider who needed to outwork the main Rider in order to avoid severe consequences. At least Ryusei acted the way someone who's desperate would. Nitou was comic relief for the most part except for the Grandma arc.
5. Secondary Rider power-up. Ryusei got his after losing the friends he knew he ever had. Nitou, meh.
6. Main rider final form. Infinity arc<<<<<<<Cosmic States arc.

I wouldn't be surprised if Wizard ended with Koyomi having to die. However, as I've said, there's still more than a decade of shows to go, and there's still a lot of ways the show can go on.

Nah, he did just "come in and make puns"; it wasn't until much later on in the Meteor Storm arc, iirc, that he was like "Oh yeah, I can take souls too!".
