Who here hates 4Kids dubs?

To me, dubbing any live-action anime (Tokusatsu), never works.

Live Action Anime doesn't always equal Tokusatsu :eyebrow:

Also its apparent you have forgotten all about this little gem.

The 4kids Taiga dub was hilarious

"Oh, you have a zit on your face. Here let me pop it for you!"

Man totally random

Ultraman? How could I forget him?

I don't know. Whenever I see tokusatsu, it reminds me of it being a third of the anime population. But that's just me.

But yeah, I haven't forgotten about Ultraman.

I agree with the fact that 4Kids did a bad job with GX and 5D's. As for the original (2nd series), it's decent.

And as the Tiga dub, it was bad, however, I liked the US OP.

I know some of you hate what 4Kids is doing to your fave anime that you wish that the founders of this company would burn in hell for destroying every anime they would get in their hands. yeah, even Ultraman Tiga got destroyed too.

who here hates this company? just for fun.
I do!

But yeah, I haven't forgotten about Ultraman.

I used the Ultraman comparison because it was the first dubbed Tokusatsu and a very successful dub. Therefore it shows that an English toku dub can work.

As for my tastes, generally I prefer the dub if the dub is good or it matches the story better than the Japanese language. Ala I can't watch an anime where all the characters are British and the story is set in Europe and everyone is speaking Japanese without thinking "This makes no sense" the whole time watching. An example of a superb dub would be Mobile Suit Gundam.

Is that the first Ultra or was that Towards the future (or that other Ultra from Australia)?

Towards the Future is the Australian Ultraman, he looks pretty different from the original Ultraman. The Towards the Future Ultraman wore spandex that is the most obvious difference like a sentai costume, not rubber and soft vinyl material like the original one pictured here which many people have been forgetting was dubbed back in the 60s.
