What do your other Friends think of Toku?

I got some of my friends hooked on it. My ex-girlfriend loved watching Magi, Faiz and Kabuto with me and my best friend is always watching Den-O and doing the henshin from it.

Which might not be such a good thing...

I remember one time, my girlfriend and I were watching episode 40 of Faiz, when the Blaster first comes into play, when some friends came over. We were all sitting around watching it and one of my friends commented that Blaster Form was like something out of a parody, it just seemed to be so perfect. :laugh:

My friends think it's garbage kamen rider they called it a power rangers clone whenever I watch one henshin show they are like turn it down to zero or were leaving one of my pals is okay with it he likes it but all the rest aren't even going to try watching it oh well their loss.

Er...let's just say that I think 90% of the general public in the UK think Toku equals in the following equation...

Though thankfully, through the power of Jonathon Ross (Toku celebrity fan that I know of) and Neo magazine (anime, manga and Asian film magazine that actually knows what it's doing in terms of research on anything to do with Japan); that'll clear things out...eventually.

Though I managed to succeed my younger sister once, after telling her that roughly 60% of the BLEACH voice actors are in Den-O.

No it won't. Jonathan Ross is a complete twat and does Japan no favours. He runs around going "OMG BEST THING EVER!" and showing the freak show side of Japan all too often for my taste. Lets be honest here, people in the UK think Japan is Takeshi's castle and sticking rats down your pants.

My friends know I watch it but don't comment, they know I'd tell them to get bent if they tried to say anything against it. My girlfriend wants to watch Japanese dramas with me (I'm thinking Densha Otoko) which is cool and she's well aware I like toku and seems to be open to it, but I won't push it onto people.

Remember guys if you push stuff on people they will turn against it, it's really not cool. Let them come to you if they're interested don't try and convert them. It's like the old Christian stereotype, some nutjob in a collar trying to ram Jesus down your throat so you end up telling everyone to stick it where the sun don't shine.

I never try to convert my friends. If they ask then fine we check out something I hope they like and don't find boring. This hasn't happen with toku as off yet but my friend asked for some Spidey comics I gave him some and was hooked. Princple works the same if asked show and if they like it fine if don't your still friends right?

I can't even talk about it at all, because the only way I can describe it to people is by calling it "Japanese Power Rangers". That usually brings the conversation to a screeching halt.

I was pretty dissapointed that some of my cousins and friends say that Garo looked like pOWER rANGERS even though I showed how violent the show was :170: I don't see how the armor looks something like power rangers.

The thing is its stuck in ppls minds (especially in america) that anyone who transforms is a POWER RANGER. I bet they would call shin kamen rider a power ranger even tho he looks more like predator!!!

I can see the powerrangers thing for KR & other outfit types untill I checked it out I thought the same way more or less... Though I didn't insult people of it cause everyones into something different Its become "cool" to collect things like starwars and transformers of late but there was a time when people would make fun of you for that too


Garo though is so freakn cool even the outfit designs... I don't see how anyone with an IQ above 50 can insult it ....
