Virus Scanners / Trojan Removers

It must be the new free 2011 edition of AVG then...........which has become un-reliable since AVG updated to the new edition beginning of this year.

The paid, premium version of AVG 2011 is great.......but the free version of AVG 2011 basically removed all of the features that made the previous AVG editions reliable (almost to the point where AVG barely does any anti-virus/malware protection at all).

My cousin recommended Avira after he realized the new free 2011 AVG sucked balls, and Avira has been watching my ass ever since

My fiancee used the free trial of AVG for her laptop, but it ended up destroy. Completely ruined. So that's why I actually prefer to buy the full version of AVG instead of the free trial.

BTW, I recently got the new AVG of 2011 last week and it was all good so far.

Yeah, the full version of the new AVG is just as good as the previous FREE editions of AVG.............so if you're gonna get the new AVG, aim for the full PAID version or don't get the new AVG at all.

I'm currently using the full version of avast! Anti-Virus and it's good so far. :)

I haven't had an opportunity to try Avast, but I heard the free version of Avast is very reliable like Avira.

And just to throw out another free antivirus option out there, Microsoft offers their own FREE alternative antivirus program as well (no, I'm not talking about that Windows Defender **** that comes with your Windows XP/Vista/7 OS).

Microsoft Security Essentials is the antivirus program, and I've heard from some people online that this free antivirus program from Microsoft is LEGIT and reliable

Yeah, it's all good so far. Next time I will find a full paid version. Thanks! :)

And one more thing I want to say.... DON'T BUY NORTON. It's crap.

I, like a few others, have used the MalwareBytes/Spybot S&D combination. I mainly lean more towards MalwareBytes now since it seems that it's taking care of some of the stuff that Spybot used to only get. Plus, unlike AVG, it isn't a resource hog. I loved AVG back when I first got it but after certain updates it just slowed down my computer. Also, if you do get MalwareBytes, don't bother starting the full trial. The only bonus you'd be really getting 24/7 scanning and flash scan. Most that you'll need is quick/full scan.

And never trust an antivirus that will freely let you scan your computer for viruses but forces you to buy the program in order to remove them. Yes, Norton, we are still look at you haha.

^ yeah, Norton sucks and everytime I buy a new computer, it expires IMMEDIATELY after a few months. :redface2:

errr....that's not really immediately.

The only one I use is Microsoft Security Essentials, by far the best anti virus out there, it's free, light weight and i haven't had a problem with it yet. I believe i've had it for about 1-1.5 years.
