[GAME] Vanguards of Hope

Gin glanced over to see Thomas and Molly were ok. Relief washed over him removing most of the selfless impetus to do battle with the creatures for their sake. He looked down at the belt around his waist Vangards of hope. The words made it sound like they were knights of some holy order. Like he'd been chosen by some higher power to do it's bidding. But there was no burning bush, no stone tablets, or bolt of lightning out of a clear clue sky. For Gin there was only monsters, death, and bad luck. All stemming from the remnants of smart brain. Even the briefcase he held carried it's logo.

Vanguard of hope. It was laughable when placed anywhere near smart brain. To think that something created by them could produce hope, The kind of hope which the two armored figures spawned as they fought their respective foes genuinely offended Gin. He raised the briefcase in the air, ready to throw it into the mist for god knows who to find. Let someone else be smart brain's hope.

Gin stopped suddenly. Rather something stopped him. Gin felt something in that moment that went beyond emotion. Beyond conscious or subconscious thought. A feeling much deeper than all of that made him grip the case's handle so hard it felt like it might break. He looked out the corner of his eye. Towards the arm held up to throw the case, and for a moment he could have sworn he saw something. A shining white fabric wrapped tightly around it.

Enraged, Gin turned and swung a clinched fist, meeting nothing but air and finding nothing wrapped around his arm. Something snapped inside of him in that moment. He could feel a strange instinct take over. And with it the desired to tear out somethings heart. Gin turned towards the sluglike creature and this time succeeded in throwing the briefcase. Not into the mist, or even out of eyeshot, but directly at the giant slug as it moved in on the figured in the pink armor. When the case bounced off of the creature Gin Went charging in with reckless abandon. Someone Near Gin in that moment would see something different about him as he ran in. Skin that seemed to be turning transparent, revealing an inhuman visage underneath and an unearthly glow slowly building, threatening to overtake him.

Draco blasted a stream of flames at the monster and it kept dodging the fire. the monster attempted to jump off of a wall and strike Draco's rider with it's sword but the monster was swatted away by the dragon's tail. the Red Eel turned it's fangs to a point to a nearby building with some broken windows..... Steve couldn't figure out what the creature was seeing there but it seemed to be very interested in destroying whatever was there.

"What the hell is that creature turning away for?" Steve asked to himself.

"What ever it is it can't be good. Use this ring to restrain his ass." Draco said pointing to another ring with his tail. Steve ran the ring through the hand-scanner.

"BIND! PLEASE!" Steve reached his hand out to the creature, and 6 magic seals appeared and from each seal, one chain came out to restrain the monster from reaching his target.

"No. No. No. That is a bad giant monster. You do not just start **** up, and turn away to something else." Steve said as the monster was struggling to get free of the chains. The monster was stronger than it looked. It broke free of one chain with it's right arm and used it's broadsword to bash against the other chains. It wasn't going to be hindered from it's goal that easily. Draco breathed fire on the monster but it fired a lightning bolt from it's mouth and the lightning bolt hit draco in the chest, It didn't injure the dragon, but it didn't look like he was going to breathe fire anytime soon. Steve looked up to see the 3 fairy-like heroes seeming to be devising a plan. Speaking of which, the pink surfboard hero wasn't here. Steve had no time to wonder about his teammate's whereabouts as he had to maintain enough focus to keep monster restrained.

"Come on guys...I may need some help soon." Steve said under his breath as the monster continued to struggle to break free. Draco didn't try to hit the monster with any melee attacks because he didn't want risk damaging the chains even more and risk the monster getting loose. And if it weren't bad enough, the time limit for Draco to be in his solid form is half-way done.

Decade looked at the card in his hand, staring at it. It had appeared out of absolutely nowhere for no apparent reason. He could hear the folks at Indigo talking in his ear- Rowan demanding to know what just happened, Alys wanting to know how it happened, and Jurgen nervously spouting off techobabble- but it hardly registered. Neither did the red warrior defeating his opponent. All that seemed to matter to Decade was the card and a sudden sense of...something. It was like someone had put the weight of the world on his shoulders while simultaneously showing him the entire universe and how small he was in comparison. It was an overwhelming sense of pressure. He knew that this was no longer a normal mission for Indigo. The stakes were suddenly much higher than he had ever dealt with.

Decade's sudden introspection was cut off as he was hit in the face by a spike. A second one hit him square in the chest. The slug was taking full advantage of Decade's distraction. The blows from the projectiles continued, and Decade was feeling each one of them. He'd be bruised to hell and sore in the morning...assuming he survived until morning. The slug advanced, hoping to finish off its distracted foe. For a moment, it seemed that it would succeed.

Then it got hit in what approximated as its face with a briefcase.

The owner of the briefcase followed it, charging at the beast. Decade watched, a bit taken back by the surprising charge of this unarmored person. As he did, he saw the newcomer's body begin to change. Was it something the slug was doing? Whatever it was, it filled him with a sense of dread. If that change were to finish, it wouldn't be for the better.

"Cam, save him!"

Alys' words smashed through the fog in Decade's mind, immediately snapping his attention back to the moment. He looked at the new card and shrugged. "Well, let's give this thing a spin." He slid the card into his belt as he began rushing at the slug.

ATTACK RIDE: FLAME

Immediately Decade felt incredibly hot. It was if his body itself was on fire. He looked at his hands. They were engulfed in pink flames. His gaze moved back to the slug, grinning under his helmet. With a fierce cry, he lashed out at the slug. This time, his blows were hurting the beat. It reared back as its body ignited, making the sound one would expect a giant slug that had just been set on fire to make. Decade pressed the assault, landing burning blow after burning blow. Even as the flames on his hands fizzled out, he grabbed at the slug's single fang and pulled with all his might. With a sickening squelch, the single tooth ripped free from the creature. It roared in pain as it tried to back off. "Oh no," Decade said as he drew another card. "You're done here." He took a brief pause to shake a bit of slime off of it before slamming it into his belt.

FINAL ATTACK RIDE: D-D-D-DECADE

A series of projections in the shape of cards appeared between Decade and the slug. Decade leaped into the air, the projections following. With another fierce cry, Decade began to kick through the projections. He phased through them, gaining power with each card, before emerging out the final one and striking the slug square in the center of its body. The monster didn't even have time to get out a death cry before erupting in a massive explosion. Decade landed unsteadily, taking a second to regain his balance. He was already beginning to ache from the blows he had received, but he put the pain out of his mind. He turned to the briefcase-wielding stranger, offering him a hand.

"That was a pretty ballsy move there."

A young man from japan walks through the streets of Cold March. To say the least the experience of just trying to get there was an adventure on its own. Who knew that you would have so much trouble just trying to find one city. Not to mention that the guy who owned the tavern was freaky. And the tavern disappearing tavern when they left was even more freaky. The young girl walking behind him was looking around in awe at the buildings. This was the first time that either of them had been to America and she could not believe how different the buildings looked from the buildings in Japan. She turned back to the young man and spoke.

"Hey Shagon, maybe we should find a place to stay I don't like the looks of this fog."

Shagon was about to respond but he then heard the sound of battle nearby. He breaks out into a dead run towards the sound of battle. He finally makes his way to the battle only to see a giant eel in front of him. "Ok not your average monster and definately not a demon. Well not much else to do but to take care of it." He thought.

He takes out the Samuriver and places it against his waist and the belt extends from the left around Shagon's waist to the right. He then pulled a badge with the japanese symbol for fire on it from a magnetic necklace around his neck and tosses the badge in the air and catches it with the point up and holds his arm at an angle in front of his face calling out the transformation word.

"HENSHIN!"

He pushes the badge in the slot on the driver and pushes the middle button on the driver which has the japanese symbol for Samurai on it. As soon as it is pressed the driver speaks.

"SAMURAIIIIIIIIIIIII!"

Long white camp curtains called jinmaku come out the front of the driver and wrap around Shagon's entire body and then the armor forms on him all the while he gets into a stance as though drawing an invisible samurai sword and then one suddenly appears and then he grips the handle and the sheath. The armor locks in place and Shagon stands in him complete transformed state. He wears red spandex with black armor on his chest, shoulders, lower arms and back of hands, the legs and feet with a black hakama around the legs with black armor on it. The helmet is a black samurai helmet with a black samurai mask with red slit eyes. The eyes glow red and then he draws his sword swinging it downward and then to the right while announcing his name.

"KAMEN RIDER...SAMURAI!"

Samurai rushes over to a warrior in black and red and see's him struggling to keep the giant eel under control so without speaking rushes the monster and begins slashing at it making the cuts as devistating as it can be. He makes several diagonal cuts along the eel making sure to hit vital areas. Afterwards Shagon jumps back to the red and black warriors spot and presses a long red button on the samuriver with the word "EJECT" written on it. The badge he had placed in pops out and he catches it with his left hand and reaches over and pulls out another badge that sat in a slot on the left side of the driver. The badge had the japanese symbol for water on it and he tosses it in the air and catches it with his right hand and inserts it into the driver and presses the left button on the driver with the symbol for archer. The driver comes alive again with a voice.

"ARCHERRRRRRR!"

Once again long white camp curtains called jinmaku come out the front of the driver and cover Shagon. The armor locks back in place again and the transformation is complete. This time though the red spandex and red eyes have been replaced by blue. The sword is gone and in place a strange bow is connected to Samurai's left wrist. He turns to the warrior in black and red and speaks.

"Just hold on for a few moments longer and I should just about have this guy beaten."

With that he pulls out an arrow from the quiver that has formed on his back and draws the bow string back with the arrow connected to it. He takes aim for the eel's head and releases. The arrows aim is true as it hits the eel in the eye causing it to stumble and fall down on one knee. He turns back to the other warrior and speaks while switching back to his first form.

"SAMURAIIIIIIIIIIIII!"

"If you have any finishing moves now would be the time to break em out cause we only got one shot while its stunned by my arrow."

Once the armor has finished forming he presses the Samurai button 3 times and the driver announces the finisher.

"FINAL CHARGE!"

Shagon rushes the kneeled eel and performs a roundhouse kick to the monster shouting out the finisher.

"BURNING KICK!"

Flames engulf his foot as he spins with his left leg stuck out and spinning straight into the monster kicking it hard.

((OOC: Ok so I have made my rider known I will hand it off to you Thunder. Lets see what you do now.))

It was the light of decade's flames that pulled Gin out of the strange trance. Everything was spinning. Gin dropped to one knee and allowed his head too rest in the palm of his hand. He looked up, The sound around him slightly muted due to the ringing in his ears. He watched as the armored figure turned the tide against the monster. Gin watched in awe as the armored man dispatched the creatures in spectacular fashion. He let out a sigh of relief as the creature exploded. By then he was now hearing things normally but little of his dizziness subsided.

Gin stumbled towards the briefcase, clumsily dropping to one knee when he neared it. With a slight Grimace he picked it up and was shocked when he found an open hand extended towards him. He glanced up to find the stranger who'd worn the pink armor.

"That was a pretty ballsy move there."

Gin happily took the man's hand and got to his feet thanks to the assist. He smirked slightly as he formed a reply.

"I'd call it dumb but to each their own."

Gin sighed and shook his head. He couldn't help but feel stupid in hindsight. He tried not to dwell on it. He already had entirely to much to worry about.

"Name's Gin. Drinks are on me as soon as find some work."

He paused a second remembering he'd lost sight of the other Vanguard before temprarily losing his ****. He looked around quickly before turning back to Cam.

"What happened to the other guy?

"Thanks." Steve said as he jumped back onto his dragon. "Come on buddy. Let's kick his ass."

"Steve, I Use that ring that you used to do finishing kicks to your opponent, I can't do fire-breathing after that thing shot me in the chest but I can help you perform a big kick." Draco said while grunting in pain.

"Ok, Buddy." Steve said as he took out the kick-strike ring and ran it through the Hand-scanner as Draco and Steve flew up high. "Going up!"

"YOI! KICK-STRIKE! SAIKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" Steve jumped off of Draco while the dragon began to change into giant boot-like object. the motorcycle changed back into it's original form and attached to Draco. Steve inserted his foot in the opening and rocketed towards the monster. Striking the monster hard but not totally destroying the beast. after the monster was hit by the Dragon-powered kick, Draco's time limit hit it's deadline and Draco disappeared from all of the other's eyes as the motorcycle feel down to the ground.

"****. now i got 5 minutes to finish this." Steve said as Draco changed back from his Boot-form into his full-dragon form. "This can't possibly get any worse."

"Ummm..." Draco said wincing.

"It get's worse doesn't it?" Steve as he facepalmed.

"Your rings only work at 50%." Draco said as he continued some wincing.

"....****." Steve said as he turned to the warrior.

"OK, Dude. Don't ask who i was talking to, but My powers are only going to work half as good as they are supposed to."

“Its ok, I’m over here!”

G1 shouted loudly through the fog, as he fiddled with a disc shaped red jewel. Just another thing he’d need to make a note of, his suit’s gloves didn’t make replacing the battery very easy. None the less he soon managed to slot it into his belt driver causing his eyes of his armour lit up suddenly as G1’s armour became lighter.

“Sorry for keeping you, my armour’s battery died suddenly and I had to swap it out.”

G1 couldn’t help but have a number of questions for the armoured warrior, but he wasn’t in any hurry. Relaxed now that the fiends had been defeated, the red warrior walked with a confident stride up to the armoured hero and the brave but reckless civilian. Hayato looked out the corner of his eye toward the smart brain brief case something about it seemed interesting.

“Nice to meet you both, I’m Hayato and this is the first generation Kamen rider armour series or G1 for short.”

G1 one said pointing up and down at his armour, while the paint on the chest and shoulders was heavily scratched up it didn’t look any look any worse for wear. He deliberately held back his surname after all neither had seen his face yet and he wasn’t too sure if he could trust the civilian just yet.

"I'm Decade. You can call me...well, Decade." He knew better than to give away his real name, if for no other reason than to avoid another lecture about it from the boss. It was important that he keep his civilian identity a secret...which led to a problem: the landlady and her friend had seen him transform. He wasn't sure if they had seen his face, but the pink motorcycle was certainly recognizable. If they saw him riding it, they'd quickly put two and two together. Then again, by that reasoning a ton of people would make that connection, but they never seemed to. He'd have to remember to ask Jurgen if there was some gizmo in the bike that made people forget about it, assuming he'd actually be able to understand the explanation.

Speaking of the landlady, Decade realized he should probably check on her, if that was indeed her. He gave a nod to Hayato. "Thanks for the assist. I'll look you up next time I need a sidekick." He turned and gave Gin a nod as well. "And as for you, I hope find a job that pays well, 'cause you're gonna have a big tab." With a quick wave, Decade broke away and started looking for the duo of civilians that he had saved. It wasn't long before he found the alleyway where they were hiding. "You two okay?"

Arclight was surprised by Reapers sudden improvement, being beaten back by the chain lashing his foe had unleashed. Still, it was good to know those chains were more than just for looks, and that this dark rider was stronger than he had initial seemed. When Reaper went skyward, his fist enwrapped in dark power, the angelic warrior knew he could no longer rely on his natural abilities. ”So be it, Reaper.”

Raye’s attack hit, but not its intended target. Instead his fist hit a shield, and its wielder was a rather shocking sight. The ArcAngel, Arclight’s persona, now floats before Raye in all its splendor. With a flick of its arm, the angelic being sends the thwarted attacker flying back. Though Raye would land easily, he would see his shattered chain hit the ground as Arclight lands safely. His persona vanished, seeming to have only materialized long enough to aid its master before vanishing back into the aether. The warrior in white dusts off his shoulder and then points toward his opponent lightly. An onlooker would almost be able to see the smile beneath his helmet as he speaks cheerfully.

”Forcing me to call on my persona in order to save myself…well done. You are indeed more than a random fool sent on a pointless errand. Yet you still do not grasp your true potential, or the power your persona can impart to you. Summoning it for a brief moment of aid is only ”

Opening his hand, the rider in white conjured a new card in his hand, this one with an angel wielding a staff surrounded by waves. ”I hope a demonstration will help you understand, or at least provoke your hidden power to awaken.” As Arclight passes the card over his belt, the crystal angel upon the belt begins to glow with a blue hue. The belt sings with a fierce, but beautiful song as the wearer stretches out his right arm. The card in his hand liquefies and spread over his arm before dispersing to reveal new armor upon the limb. Still angelic in appearance, but now blue with silver etching and a shoulder pad that looks like folded fins, the new appendage glows as the Arcangel appears behind its master. It now wears a blue sleeve over its right arm, and holds a staff in its hand which vanishes in a flash of light, only to reappear in Arclight’s own right hand. The staff is of a similar design to the new armor and has a hole on both ends surrounded by small, gold “bowls”.

As the newly equipped warrior swings the weapon skillfully, the weapon releases narrow waves of water from its tips that fly toward Reaper. The waves strike hard and knock the warrior back a step as his enemy approaches. Once upon him, Arclight uses the staff to beat back his foe until Raye attempts to use his chains to defend himself. The chains easily block the attacks, but when he tries to use them at long range once more, the rod wielder turns the advantage against him by wrapping the chains around his weapon. This leads to a tug of war, until Arclight laughs and releases his staff. The staff suddenly changes shape and becomes more like a serpent, twisting around the chains and darting toward its target. Reaper is suddenly coiled by the snaking rod and struggles to get free as Arclight’s own fist glows with a blue, liquid like energy.

”Shadow Blitz? Then I suppose this is my…”

Arclight runs forward before jumping in an attempt to land a flying punch against his distracted foe.

”Aqua Blitz!”

Thomas stared at Gin with a foul look on his face. He knew he sensed something about the man that he didn’t like. The way the stranger was changing after throwing the suit case…he had seen such a change before. Molly seemed less concerned about this, and was rather ecstatic over the victory the two armored warriors had achieved.

”You two okay?”

Molly said nothing and nodded while Thomas broke off his hard stare and looked toward the pink figure with a look of relief. ”Y-yeah…but who are you guys? Where did you come from, and where can a guy get one of those?” Thomas pointed at Decade’s armor while Molly looked over Gin with a worried gaze. She could tell he was more than confused, and was unsure of what exactly he was doing there. The two armored warriors were less conflicted about their purpose and presence there. Even so, she felt a bit of the strange from each of them as well. The red warrior had been in the presence of a powerful being, while the pink warrior’s armor radiated an odd aura. Gin’s presence was as conflagrated as his thoughts of everything going on around him. This was probably why Thomas was being so defensive around him, or so Molly thought.

Before anyone could explain anything, Thomas’ phone rang and the man answered reluctantly. ”Kind busy bro…wait…what…slow down I can’t…WHAT!? No, no, just stay hidden and I will be there soon! Just…just stay safe!” The now panicked man hung up his phone and turned to Decade with desperation on his face. ”My brother says monsters are attacking the university! There are people fighting them, but the students are scattered and terrified…there anyway you can give me a ride there?”

Thomas made his request, and after receiving a reply he turned to G1 and asked a big favor of him. A favor Molly was none to pleased about, but wasn’t given a chance to argue over. ”I hate to ask this, but can you get Molly home safe? I know you are here to protect people from these things, but she needs protecting to, especially after…just please keep her safe.” He turned and gave Gin another hard stare before leaping onto the back of Decades bike and racing off into the night. A dumbfounded Molly watched him race off and huffed deeply before stomping the ground.

”That jerk! He just left me behind!” Her anger soon passed, and then Molly held her right arm with a fretful look. ”Although…if the monsters there are as strong as the ones that were here…I guess it’s for the best…but…” With a look of determination, molly turned to G1 and spoke with him seriously. It was clear she had no desire to hold back someone who could help others. ”Please, ignore what Thomas asked and go help at the university if you can. I am more than capable of getting home on my own, and you can help more people there than here. I’m sure Gin won’t mind taking me back…and I’m sure he can keep me safe, even if he doesn’t realize it yet.” The red head turned and nodded confidently to Gin before looking back at G1 with the same look of certainty. Though she had been afraid for a moment in the face of death, the young girl had quickly regained her confidence and courage.

As Abby looked on at the creatures that had broken into her place of employment, she would see one looking over its dead pretty with a curious stare. The creature looked to be made of stone and bore horns on its head and a spear in its hand. Soon more of the creatures were entering the building until six had made themselves known. They seemed to be searching for something, or someone as a seventh, larger being entered behind them. This one was a more organic beast with a blue hide and massive spear. It looked vaguely like the legendary Minotaur, and spoke with a deep, booming voice.

”I am Minotaur…a phantom born of despair. I seek the creatures called Fairy Tones and will kill everyone here to get them. Sorry for the inconvenience.” With that, the monster waved its hand as its servants charged forward, attacking anyone in the path while destroying the bar in search of their prey. Minotaur laughed as he watched the carnage, only to suddenly stop and scratch one of his magnificent horns. ”Now that I think about it…they didn’t tell me what a Fairy Tone looks like. *Sigh*…at least gates are easy to find…oh, speak of the devil.”

Two of the ghouls brought a waitress forward and presented her to their leader. The girl was terrified and had a look of utter despair on her face. Though no one else could see it, across the girl’s chest was a purple crack that was slowly growing in size. No one that is, but Abby and Hummy who were both watching near by as the carnage unfolded. ”That is a nice despair you have growing in your heart. Usually I would let that grow a bit more on its own, but I’m in a hurry so we are gonna do things the rough way.”

The girl pleaded for her life in vein as the Minotaur raised his hand. Before Abby could act, the beast had rammed its hand into the girl’s chest causing the crack to spread all over her body. With a tug, the girl’s form shattered away and a new being fell into the beast’s arms. It was a female creature of a similar nature as the Minotaur, but this one was looked more like a cross between woman and bird. ”Harpy…happy birthday”

”This…feeling…all my fears…my doubts…they’re gone.”

”Of course they are. You can’t have fears or doubts without hopes and dreams, now can you? You’re free from all that now. All that is left are you own desires! Your gluttony, greed, and lust are all that matters, and anyone who gets in your way might as well be dead!”[/d]

Harpy looked up at the Minotaur and laughed a bit. Her laugh soon faded as she turned to stare at Abby with malice in her eyes. ”That’s right…I was always so worried I would loose my job because the men didn’t pay attention to me. I wasn’t as beautiful or popular as the other girls and barely made ends meat because of it. I never got any hours, and never got any tips because of girls like her!” The Harpy rose to her feet and spread her wings, murderous intent in her eyes as she stared at Abby with disdain. ”It’s because of you and all the other girls that I fell into despair, but now I can finally take my revenge! I’ll kill you and every other girl that dares thing they are prettier than me!!!!”

Ryan awoke to darkness.

There was no sound. No vision. Nothing.

Am I dead? No, I can't be. I can't leave here knowing that that thing still threatens everyone. I can't be dead!

Light erupted from the cracks of the rubble that buried Ryan. The light slowly grew in intensity, and was soon joined by a defiant cry. Suddenly, the rubble was launched in multiple directions by a source of light that burned like the sun. As the light faded, it revealed Ryan, still in his Kibaranger form.

His armor was dented, scarred, burned, and broken in several places, but the White Tiger stood tall. He almost seemed reinvigorated by his near death experience. He thrust his hand forward, and his talked blade flew into it.

"Good, you're alive. I was afraid I'd have to track down a new Kibaranger." Byakko stated, trying to hide his relief.

"Kibamachine. Now." Ryan ordered.

He started running back towards the battle as the Kibamachine took shape alongside him. The ranger and the motorcycle briefly ran side by side before Ryan jumped onto the vehicle, and kicked it into overdrive.

The battle was still going on with the eel creature. The red wizard still fought bravely, and was joined by a few other warriors. However, Ryan had a score to settle.

"Byakko, Dairen Rod!" The sword was engulfed in light and took the shape of a black and gold spear with a three-pronged head.

The eel creature was in combat with the wizard and a new warrior who appeared to be a samurai.

"Riders, move!" Ryan yelled out to them.

They quickly got out of his way, leaping to the sides. At full speed, he rammed his spear into the monstrous creature, and drove him into a nearby building. The spearhead pierced its chest, causing it to scream out in pain, which was silenced by the collapse of a wall.

Satisfied, Ryan turned Byakko back into his sword form, and inserted him into the console of the Kibamachine. He drove up to the red wizard and the samurai.

Before he could say anything to them, an the building that he'd driven the eel creature into exploded. From the smoke, the monster he thought he'd killed emerged. Upon seeing them, it roared with fury.
