There’s More Hope For A Chrono Trigger Remake Than There Was Before

I’m excited, but my excitement is tempered by experience. Square Enix sometimes does good remakes, sometimes bad. The nervous response from Horii makes me think it’s real, though. I’d love them to add some new content or story expansions, as long as it doesn’t feel forced. Honestly, a little new material could make even longtime fans like me come back and enjoy it fresh.

I think this is the perfect time for a remake. The nostalgia factor is high, and the audience is ready. Chrono Trigger influenced so many games, and newer players should get the chance to see why. I just hope Square doesn’t overdo it with flashy graphics and forget what makes it special—the story, characters, and clever gameplay mechanics. Those are what make it timeless.
