I'm surprised that there's only one Red & Purple Ultraman. And he also seems to be the only Purple Ultraman too from what I've seen. I like that though, makes him really unique

Oh wow I also remember there was a purple ultraman in that Cosmo Justice combination.

Scratch that about that one ultraman being the only Purple Ultraman, but Tiga is still the only Red and Purple ultraman I can think of and I find that awesome.

But, Darksenshi, those pics are from what Okunohoshimichi is calling the Ultraman Retsuden DVDs that GekiDan originally posted. Which seems to be a separate project from the Terebi Magazine "All-Star Ultraman League" that Aoi Kurenai first posted on, and whose pic I was referring to. Now, if all these projects are indeed interconnected, then everything stands.

Retsuden is a TV show not DVD and like oku said, those are not previews of Retsuden. Retsuden will start airing on July and mostly it's mostly feature a selected episode from past series, re-edited to present a new angle on various generations of Ultra superheroes, narated by Zero, it is not about the All Star Ultraman or Ultra League.

The visitors are in the series from episode 1, though their presence is not made entirely clear until deeper along into the series. Then the series was canned before they could be developed fully but they're still given a good chunk of exposition in the final episode as well as bits peppered throughout the latter half of the show.

Basically, if you ever actually bother to sit down and watch Nexus, the Visitors are the tiny jellyfish-like organisms that hang out in the glass tube in the Illustrator's office and chat with him, helping him perceive when and where the Space Beasts appear. As I understand it, they encountered Noa on their home world and were so profoundly in awe of this great being of light that they went about constructing a copy for themselves: Zagi. Zagi was imperfect and became corrupted, however, destroyed the Visitor's world, and chased them when they tried to escape to Earth where he began his reign of terror anew, creating the Space Beasts and Dark Ultras to do his bidding. Noa followed Zagi to Earth, leading to the events of Ultraman The Next and Ultraman Nexus and the Visitors offered their technology to aid the humans in the fight against Zagi. The memory erasers, weapons, Chrome Chesters, Lethe, etc. were all Visitor tech or developed from Visitor technology.

The Noa/Zagi/Visitors backstory was mostly detailed in the final episode and elaborated on in books that came out after the series' demise. I assume it would have been explored more deeply had the series continued all the way to episode 50.

And don't say "too late" like TPC had any choice in the matter. The show was CANCELLED with almost an entire quarter of the series to go. Instead of ragging on them for the plot points that were caught in the crossfire and left a little muddied, they should be commended for somehow managing to save the series and produce one of the best damned series finales the Ultra series has ever seen.



I admit that it's pure speculation on my part but it just doesn't jive in my mind. Jun, Ren, and Nagi were all role models to Komon who, in succumbing to their personal hamartiae, paved the way for Komon's character growth to surpass them all and ultimately become the savior of the Human and Visitor races.

Patience; I have to complete my collections of Dyna, Gaia, and Cosmos first.

Seriously, I really appreciate your answers and your passion for Nexus. I urge you to go on to Wikipedia and update this info; it could get a few more folks interested in the show. Please keep in mind, most of us don't have access to follow-up material, like books, novelizations, or news articles about toku - unless they're online, and you have access to a good translator.

Granted, the show was cancelled too soon; but it also had very low ratings almost from the get-go. It wouldn't take a genius to see that cancellation was in the near future if the ratings didn't improve in a hurry; and the producers and writers of the show should have prepared accordingly.

We already know of Nagi's "personal flaw" of uncontrolled rage, what were the flaws of Jun and Ren? Considering that all are seen alive and well at the end, is it possible that the Ultraman "disconnected" from each, but hid them away safely until the final victory?

Given that the Visitors created Zagi, based on Noa, in the first place, how could it have gotten corrupted? And, if it was powerful enough to destroy the Visitors' homeworld, why didn't it just do the same to Earth?

Both Himeya and Ren were death seeker and couldn't get past their own dark past. According to the writers actually, despite appearing on Komon's epilogue, Himeya is dead. Ren is still alive only because of Raphael. Noa's power were too great to be copied, which cause Zagi to go corrupt because he couldn't handled it, If I remember correctly. And why doesn't Zagi just destroy earth easily? Hello? Because Noa FOLLOWED him to earth remember? He follow Zagi to stop him that's why Zagi couldn't destroy it while Noa was protecting it.

Oh and about the cancelation, don't compare american TV system with Japanese, it's different. Unlike american TV series which ordered usually 12 episodes and then suddenly canceling if the rating is low. Japanese TV doesn't go like that, rating is not the only thing they go by, toy sales and merchandise comes hand in hand. Not too mention the different ways they treat prime time TV and let's say, Late night TV.

Late night only got 12 or 26 episode and most of the profit come from DVD and not rating because the rating for late night are always low. Prime time usually has both rating and toy sales, which is why shows like Den-O is considered a success, despite it's rating being just pretty decent, it's toy sales is high.

The producer if I remember, only starting to get the red light around the middle, if they had it since the beginning, there's now way they would cut so many plotlines after writing it from the beginning.

You should stop using wikipedia as your source of information and at least watch the series before commenting too much, it seems like talking to a rock.
