Huh, I wonder why they'd make such a change. Maybe the new Mebius DVD set has that changed too.

Anyway, I can't watch the current episode, even though it's a direct continuation of the previous one. :/ I guess last time somebody just forgot to set the video to Japan-only.

Apparently there's gonna be a special monster-centric episode, with Belial as navigator. Hope I get to watch that one on YouTube.

Here's a strange question: Do you think they'll ever do a Retsudan episode around "Ultraman vs Kamen Rider?"

They'd have to update the clip show stuff, since it's really, really outdated now. And maybe have a new teamup segment with Ultraman Ginga and whatever Rider that comes after Wizard. Honestly, that sounds a little too ambitious for Retsuden to do.

I guess it was supposed to be an episode centered around Great, before Belial hijacked the program, poor Great....

And another note, I always considered Ultra villains more deadly serious compared to other Toku villains, but seeing the Darkness Five act like comic relief-Sentai villains, and Belial losing it..........I don't know.....

And another note, I always considered Ultra villains more deadly serious compared to other Toku villains, but seeing the Darkness Five act like comic relief-Sentai villains, and Belial losing it..........I don't know.....

Well, considering that the last few ultra-serious films haven't done all that well ... :eyebrow:

And, the most recent film that did do well *wasn't* so heavy on the tragedy and drama, I'd say it's time to try some comedy in the film.

The Darkness Five come from Ultra Zero Fight. It wouldn't be a successor to the original Ultra Fight if you could take it seriously, no? And Belial has always been pretty over-the-top anyway. Although in a different way than this, I guess.

He wasn't talking about the movies, though. And Ultra films pretty much never do well at the Japanese box office. Not compared to the Kamen Rider films. And he meant serious as in "no unnecessary humor", not

I guess Superior Ultraman 8 Brothers did do relatively well, but it was a little too serious, given the concept. I mean, in Toei terms, it was Akibaranger crossed with Let's Go Kamen Riders.

And I wouldn't say Ultraman is ever heavy on tragedy and drama. I'm pretty sure western super hero comics are the way to go if you're looking for that.

By the way, did anybody else think the music at about 27:35 sound oddly like something from Nexus?

I watched the recent episode already about the 100 monsters. I just want to make sure if Retsuden had or had not show/talk about the Evil/Fake Ultras.
