Would'nt you be though? They have direct communication with Time Warner employees and Disney writers up to their eyeballs, there entitled to feel high and mighty and refuse to listen to valid criticism, and when confronted with it, either by people like myself or Ronixis, they just label us as "sad and jealous, livinig in our moms' basement", thats' being shallow and weak in my eyes, and I'm married for one thing, so this is no criticism coming from someone living in a basement.
If we're a problem, why acknowledge us? Why not go their own way? The fact it was addressed proves people like me are getting to them, and they know there not the best, Ben actually acknowledged to me when the Wikipedia TZ article was constantly reedited to reveal what they were hiding that they were'nt the most professional.
To hear something like that from the head honcho lifted a lot of the hostility I had towards him, and them, Bens' an alright guy who probably does'nt know how big his monsters' become. He probably did'nt envision TZ becoming "Timm Zone", but its' the people he hired who made it that way, out of bias, or out of determination to communicate with who is presently the top names
I recall that one article about them being mad that CN 'betrayed' them and had no balls by airing a live action movie.
Or the time Matt Wilson had to clear the air that he was'nt an animation writer when W.B hired him over another guy called Wilson...that could've just been a funny little forum story, or a trivial news bulliten, but he made a huge article about himself...I mean who cares? Nobody knows who he is beyond insiders except just being an obnoxious dork.
Yet...just a few sentences later, they talk about how airing the same cartoon all day long on April Fools a few years back took guts. I'm sitting here thinking...the hell? It takes guts to air the same short all day, yet not for a CARTOON based network to air live action? That made no sense. The people are smart, bookwise, but they don't really have a firm grasp on the realism of the entertainment industry.
No, they dont', hence when Harvey went INSANE against someone casually calling The Batmans' nomination as a "conspiracy", I'm just looking at that reaction and thinking "Bitch, you are not fooling anyone", a while ago, TZ hated The Batman with a passion, now its' forbidden to thrash it. Period.
The forums are pretty good. I've been a member for about three years. I just don't like how they do the whole 'what we say goes' thing and leave no room for member input. It cuts off what could really help them grow into a better forum, and the three strikes system is a little strict. Also, they have a habit of not demoting REALLY inactive mods.
Darn tootin', If I were in charge, I'd have made Desslar and Delia admins by now, and Jtplur need to do more sites also, not just be forced to stick his vast love of Centurions on TV.COM
The forums
did improve over time, the best example being the TZ General animation discussion, Disney forums were plauged by the Kim Possible superfans though for a time and I had to directly intervene to minimise it...rough stuff.
But yeah, this whole mess needs to be reserved for another thread, or be addressed on TZ where it'll be buried by those clowns like it was the last time, they want to live in a world where writers like Buzz Dixon worked their ass off in the 1980s' with no appreciation? Then let them, it shows you who the real professionals are out there, and they aint' such people.
...Heck I would not be suprised if the Transformers movie gurantees the only way a hosted site on Generation One shows up, given DC and Marvel have been big time players in the animation medium, and now the movie industry, for years, so of course the products of two large
corporations are going to be covered.
