Toku Actors and Anime Musicals

This makes me a sad little bunny for some reason.

All it really means is that live-action musicals based on the disposable anime/manga property of the day are a good way for aspiring actors to get their first breaks. Then it looks like tokusatsu is usually the second-third break.

If you're successful, then you pay your dues in toku and move on to bigger and better things with dramas and film. If you're more of a middling talent, it looks like you get minor drama roles and keep showing up in toku every few years.

I ended up watching a lot of the stuff from around the start of Second Cast to...about the end of Gekiranger. These days I haven't seen as much...partially because Shirota-san left XP But yeah, Araki definitely captured the feel he needed for both his Tenimyu and Gekiranger roles.

I think part of the reason why Burimyu is able to excel above Tenimyu is that Bleach kinda has more of a believable plot. Prince of Tennis takes an ordinary sport and tries to turn it into SERIOUS BUSINESS with Dragonball-style finishers...Bleach has a richer plot because there are life-and-death stakes involved, and the kind of deep conspiracies that really draw you in. Plus a good majority of the actors were already experienced veterans at the time. (Not to mention at least 25% of them had been in Tenimyu at least once, hurr hurr X3)

And don't worry about forgetting Sion -- he didn't show up until "NoKura" (No Clouds in the Blue Heavens, right?) so he's not as involved as most of the others are. (P.S. Just to keep it consistent, the character's full name is Kaname Tousen.)

Now to wait for the official Goseiger casting *crosses fingers in the hope that Tatsuya aka Ichigo really is GoseiGreen*

(Yes NoKura)

A good hunk of BuriMyu were in TeniMyu before lol If they could work Kimeru and TakiEiji in there they'd have the original Seigaku haha

Actually, Isaka Tatsuya should be up on the list already anyway. He was in Shouta Date/Riser Glen in Justiriser!

Basically what the above poster said.

I admit that i DID completely forget about Tatsuya. I sometimes forget he's even in BuriMyu lol

Yeh it's definitely a beginning step. But at least serves as an interesting thought when you realize just how many have. And some of them did Toku, then musicals, then dramas and etc.
