For the movies they may leave them as the kind of MIB-esque thing they are now. I do enjoy Coulson. The guy is really just doing his job and always finds himself in the middle of the craziest ****. :laugh:

But I do think we're kind of seeing an evolution with SHIELD to. A world that's becoming something else as more and more of the Marvels begin showing up. (Just borrowing a term from the Busiek/Ross series for the sake of conversation).

Remember it was only at the end of Iron Man 1 that they stop referring to themselves in the long form of their name. Who knows? Perhaps by the time we get to Avengers they'll be in full gear complete with flying cars and some modernized version of the Helicarrier.

Speaking of SHIELD did anybody else spot DumDum Dugan in the Cap trailer?

I'm assuming that you haven't seen the movie yet, because the only Donald Blake that existed in the movie is someone Jane Foster referred to as her ex-boyfriend. And I seriously doubt he'll show up to claim Mjolnir as well.

I have seen the movie and I don't think it wouldn't be that much of a stretch for Donald Blake to be a vessel for Thor on Earth.

I agree. Actually, having Blake be Thors vessel on Earth when he was Jane Foster's ex would make for an interestingly awkward secret ID situation. It kinda sounds like something Loki would come up with just to piss Thor off.

I so wish they gave Hawkeye more time, really good movie imo. First thing My friend said when they showed Asgard "Who ever worked on this CGI deserves a free blowjob" lol. The Icing on this godlike cake were both the Lovely Kat Dennings and a real life Infinity Gauntlet.

the movie was fun overall. Asgard look pretty cool. It needed more time to develop Thor on Earth and so much of his Asgardian Buddies including his mom were useless...the climatic battle was a letdown between Thor and Loki

the best comedic moment "XENA, JACKIE CHAN, ROBIN HOOD"...:laugh:

This movie came off well and I loved the story and the humor- only two minor issues

1) it felt like too conventional a superhero movie for my taste

2) It felt too short...

Besides this, however, this movie was awesome and its money well spent as far as I'm concerned.

I didn't have a problem with this until the end, when things did kind of generic up a bit. The first two acts are so fresh, complex, and character-driven it's almost a disappointment when it all resolves in a whirl of fights, special effects, and platitudes about the power of love.

I know that's what it needed to be and I don't really mind it so much. I just sorta wonder if the platonic ideal of the movie that existed in the creators' heads was something a little different from what we got.
