The Tokusatsu "What Is This?" Thread

OK, got a few questions.

1. Are there any independently produced Tokusatu? (Independent meaning anything not produced by Toho, Toei,Tsuburaya.

2. Are any of the following series tokusatsu?:

a.The Mystery Foe

b.Emergency 10:4 10:10

c.Army of the Apes

d.Space Wolf

Woah woah calm down, he did answer your question, those shows would all be considered tokusatsu since they use special effects in live action...

Yeah, Beast King is pretty much right on with that one so there is no need for insults. The only thing I would have added was that for conversational purposes on the board when people say "tokusatsu" it's usually specifically in reference to stuff like Godzilla, Rider, Sentai etc. Though there is a general awareness the term is for any special effects production.

In answer to the first question, yes there are. There are folks on here far more knowledgeable of indy toku than I am but one's that I know of offhand are Evolver and Zan Saber. I haven't seen anything but trailers for them though.

It's about a ninja whose clan plans to take over the world, he leaves his clan and joins up with someone who helps create a team called the Captors to battle the threat. Their powers were based around different elements.
