So with the poor economy in your country, you think spending millions on a wedding is justified?

Partially, yes. While I think spending millions on any event is ridiculous, I also think that this is an event not just for the royals, but for the whole nation. Everyone gets the day off work, sitting at home with a nice drink of their choice and gets to watch what is bound to be a very joyous and British wedding. This goes back to what I said earlier. It's very much about reminding our country of who we are as well, I think. But I can totally see where you're coming from. But I mean, c'mon. This amount of money has been spent on a lot shittier things in the past. At least this does serve some sort of purpose.

Also, while you may be getting sick of it in the media, I think it does make for a nice change. Usually all you see in the news is death, destruction, fear and all of that general bullshit. I know the wedding isn't going to be everyone's kinda thing, but a little bit of happiness and cheer in the news isn't a bad thing, I think. I can totally understand why people in foreign countries with on-going problems such as yourself would be annoyed though.

Yeah I can see your point there.

Well, now that the wedding and all the going-ons are being televised I have to say...I'm glad actually.

I wasn't looking forward to it, but it's a welcome breather with all the disaster porn plastered on every single channel for past few days.

the reason why the Obamas weren't invited is because America isn't a Commonwealth country. oh and I feel a bit proud that my country's ruler was invited. :)
