THE OVERRATED MOVIE THREAD

I might get a lot of bad comments regarding this one, but Blade Runner.

Oh, it was bad. I kept hearing and reading that it was one of the best movies of all time and that it has so much stuff in it that makes people think, but none of that was true.

Just out of curiosity, what kinds of movies do you like? What are your favorites?

It'd be interesting to know since people in this thread seem to think that some of the most well crafted and influential films in the history of motion pictures are "overrated" and "bad." It's okay to not like something, but to completely write it off just doesn't make much sense.

blade runner wasn't all that great of a flick either... sure the visuals at the time were good but Harrison Ford got his ass kicked majority of the time in the end...

Favorites?

Police Story, Hot Fuzz, Dark City, 내 머리 속의 지우개, 추격자, 미스터 주부퀴즈왕, Mothra, Gamera, Paradise Lost (KR 555), The Dark Knight, Star Wars, 유령, 아저씨, 국가대표...

Lots of other stuff. I just posted the ones that I remember right now.

Blade Runner was not well-crafted.

Yes, and the the dude who looked like Billy Idol kept mutilating himself.

While Citizen Kane is still the most overrated movie of all time (based on every History teacher and their mother telling you to go watch it), this completely takes the cake in my book: A.I.: Artificial Intelligence. The biggest problem with this movie is that it ended 30 minutes ago [hide]when David and Teddy ended up in a submerged Coney Island and David continued to ask the Blue Fairy statue for his wish to become a real boy.[/hide] Instead, we get dragged [hide]2,000 years when humans have long become extinct and David still wants his mommy.[/hide]

Because of this, I lost respect for Steven Spielberg and stopped watching his movies until Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which also pissed me off to no end. I didn't watch another Spielberg movie until The Adventures of Tintin.

History teachers? For me, they were English teachers.

AI and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull both were terrible.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull looked like acid was required to enjoy the special effects.
