The farewell Eddie Guzelian thread

Eddie's buddies arent even getting their due credit for writing some of the best eps of RPM. ESPECIALLY Matthew Negrete, who wrote the final episode under Eddie's watch and who also wrote "Doctor K", which is considered currently to be in the top three best episodes of the season. HE left alongside Eddie too.

Why? Because nobody knows who Matthew Negrete is. Nobody knows who Madelyne Paxon is. And they don't want to know.

This is all because of this sicophantic "idol worship" of people in charge over talent they supervise. EPs nobody knows personally, and who nobody wants to hold accountable for his actions. Fans are SHEEP, they wouldnt sneeze in Eddie's direction if he so much as did something "mediocre" or was associated with something mediocre...there's a reason nobody mentions any WF alumi by name other than an ascended fanboy (Amit), because to thier uneducated minds, WF "sucked beyond FR" and nothing, and nobody else, is worth mentioning...not even the guys who wrote "The Master's Last Stand" or "The Master's Herald", or any of the finer episodes of that season.

It's the polar opposite of the derision of Bruce reaching an arguable unobjective and slanderous height in 2008, where even when he was doing PR better than he had been doing, nobody would notice because to their shallow minds, he was still the incompetant he was in 2005-2006. Even the people who had started criticising Bruce from the beggining could see it was just a fashion statement (it's those same critics that DON'T slag off JF)

You're forgetting one thing...

Eddie was also blamed for the "not as good" episodes and negative story elements from this season. So would that be considered "conceited pariah denigration?" And as for the "idol worship", the exact same thing goes for Judd.

Right up until somebody mentioned John Tellegen's name. Then everyone blamed it on him, the leftovers from the reviled Kalish era.

And as for the "idol worship", the exact same thing goes for Judd.

It actually doesnt, considering Lynn was always a consumate professional (the opposite of Eddie, who was unprofessional), knew what PR had to be when it couldnt do what it could do, and did his job without tripping up despite having a tetchy relationship with his boss. That's to be respected. Fucking up on your job and then getting your mates to slag off Lynn as a "worthless scab" is not respectful.

Don't try and play the "NO, U" card with people who big up Lynn and not Eddie. It's a strawman move. There's a BIG difference between somebody who's reallistic about PR and somebody who wasnt.

In fact, I wouldn't mind if he worked with Steve Wang one day.

Speaking of "idol worship"...

It you want people to know about those writer than maybe we should have thread about them.

Maybe threads like this should have their name changed to reflect the four crewmembers who left then.

And I agree, threads about the lesser known writers probably would work. Lord help us, if people can remember David Garber and John Tellegen, they can remember Stewart St. John or Derik Rydell

Don't forget the PR fandom was ready to hate Eddie before that trailer leaked because he fired Jackie.

But we'd also heard about how passionate and radical Eddie was being, and Jackie had'nt been the best writer PR had either. Nobody knew what to feel one way or the other, some even thought it was a good thing.

Oh cut it out. Eddie did himself in.

Indeed, No one should blame Disney for firing Eddie. Eddie got himself fired. That's what happens when you go overbudget and run the script schedule into the ground.

Eddie fired himself? I thought it was Disney who fired him.

Doug Sloan is one of them, for what he has done with two silly seasons called NS and DT.

Yeeeah, Skynight's fandom rage is misdirected and less informed than it would seem to be trying to suggest. For one thing, Amit wasn't just a writer, he was story editor, which means all those episodes he "didn't" write were actually still passed over and changed by him to suit a specific framework.

Casting untempered summary judgments is something that neither Skynight, nor the fans he's raging against, should be doing. It just makes everyone look bad.

I thought this thread was about saying farewell to Eddie Guzelian. I guess some people are dead set on changing that.

Funny. Usually, eps like that and Ranger Yellow and the rest, as well as there being too much Dillon/Ziggy focus or not enough focus for the other characters, or there being too much grimdark are all mentioned when used as examples as to why "Eddie isn't that great." Same goes for Gem and Gemma. So is Eddie responsible for those too or not? And if I can recall, people were pissed when the writer for Ranger Blue (a fan favorite ep) left with Eddie and wished Madellaine Paxson and Matt could have stayed on with the creative team.

That's to be respected. Fucking up on your job and then getting your mates to slag off Lynn as a "scab writer" is not respectful.

Really? He got them to do that? :rolleyes2: And anyways, I was referring to reactions to the creative aspects.

If what Eddie did on RPM was "fucking up," we can only hope that Judd Lynn and all other future producers can manage to **** it up even half as much.

And how is the whole scab thing Eddie's fault in any way? It sounds like the entire writing staff was pissed at Lynn for writing on the show while they were out walking the picket lines. If they end up "slagging off" on him, it's a direct result of that whole situation, not because Eddie "got" them to do it. That's ridiculous.

Ah, the haters.
