Because all critics are automatically wrong right? which is why they have jobs in the industry? :eyebrow: Really now just watch it and form your own opinion, it might agree with some critics, it might agree with some other critics, it might be completely original.

The case is interesting with Terminator Salvation in terms of reception. The general audience and those that are a bit less analytical thought the movie was pretty good (Holds a 72% rating) while the critics and those that view movies like a critic thought the movie was bad (around a 35% rating). Two opposite views.

From what I have seen, the audience loved the film while the critics disliked it :redface2:

So you should see it yourself and judge it.

All I have to say is, damn, this is one friggin' awesome movie. You definately can "feel" the Terminator universe.

The only thing that I could possibly see wrong with this film is that it wasn't long enough. Other than that, it was pretty awesome.

Just a word of advice for those who are unsure whether they should watch it:
Don't go in expected a bunch of random fight scenes. You could classify it as a Thriller, but there are atomic explosions and fist fights and gun fights.

Just watch it. It's a blast. I don't know where all the negativity is coming from.

Saw it. It was garbage. Nothing about it screamed "Terminator". Nothing but random explosions, bad acting, lousy CGI, that cliched "Iraq documentary" directing style, and Mad Max pastiches. I don't know where this fangasm is coming from. Open your eyes, this is a mainstream representation of Terminator, not an artistic representation.

The first two Terminator movies were bold, brassy, had awesome contemporary stunts, awesome modeling and effects work with both a limited AND unlimited budget, they played like a rock'n'roll road movie...that's what makes Terminator "Terminator", the escalation of drama in a nightmarish, ignorant present day world where they think their saviours are mad and that nothing's going to happen to them. This is why Sarah Conner Chronicles was a masterpeice and stayed TRUE to the "road trip from hell" scenario, it "got" Terminator.

This does not.

The most iconic thing about this crap is the outtakes with Bale.

And I hate when idiots use the "don't listen to the critics" shitic. How retarded. Critics are members of the audience as much as anyone. If anything, I could argue the only reason the audience like this is because there sheep who roar at explosions.

People should only listen to themselves when it comes to movies and such. They really should make up their own minds. I don't trust critics myself. It goes back to the fiasco with siskel and ebert and the original star wars.

This is a taste of the Terminator movie I've always wanted to see. The post-apocalyptic future battle against the machines. I really hope this movie's a success, cuz I want more. The guy that played Marcus was damn good and I hope they bring him back.

I have a feeling they drastically changed the ending. Even after the re-write I heard about the director said that the ending would not be neat and would cause lots of discussion. The ending I saw came complete with a nice red bow.

Terminator got a horrible box office return over the weekend, it's looking like a bust so far. T4 also has a $200m budget, so you'd have to hope for really good overseas numbers for the sequels to come.

And don't worry about Sam Worthington. You'll be seeing a WHOLE lot more of him in the near future. He's starring in James Cameron's Avatar later this year, it's pretty much the biggest movie of the year. He has a lot of other projects coming up after that too. I think he is about to become the next big action star.

That's because that lame ass Night at the museum 2 is taking all the business. I guess people wanted to see a badly done "family" film. The money it made or didn't make isn't really an issue for me. Speed Racer was a bust at the box office, but IMO it was one of the top 5 movies of 2008.

Sam Worthington is working on the clash of the Titans remake right now. He will be playing Perseus.

It's box office return would be an issue if you want to see the franchise be continued. And I dont think NATM2 had that much of an effect on its business. The movies have totally different target audiences.

Yeah, this is a little different. Speed Racer was a one shot... it deserved better, but I'm fine with just the one movie.

Terminator I wanted to be a continuing franchise and it was a world I wanted to return to for more monster fighting action. Really wanted to see where it was going.
