Team Rider vs Team Sentai

You know, that was one badass thing about Kamen Rider crossovers back in the day-NO POINTLESS FIGHTS. They recgonized each other as fellow WARRIORS OF JUSTICE and fucked the **** up of any bad guys in the area

I would like to see Ichigo and Aka Ranger meeting each other in the middle of the battle, commenting how pointless the whole thing is, but then, just as they are going to walk away, they start fighting.

They would make some comment about how, no matter how stupid the situation is, neither would turn his back on his comrades while they are in the middle of a battle.

It's like every battle there is involving Ultimate Form Kuuga or Tendou Souji, everyone always picks those two.

I wouldn't. I'd pick UltraSeven to murder them.

....but that's because UltraSeven could murder any Rider or Sentai team, so that's not exactly fair.

Also I'm a fanboy.

..and that's exactly how this movie should go with some allowance for villains using mind-woogy tricks on the heroes and whatnot.

But then I guess they want to service the fans various "my dad can beat up your dad" fantasies. I don't really get needing to have the love of one's favorite hero validated by that characters ability to beat up someone else's favorite.

I don't think it's just a matter of "X hero can beat X hero"! If you look at all the Shirakura produced mega-crossovers (or Yonemura written, I'm not really sure who's the one pushing for this), he always seems to try to push for some debatable takes that can gets lots of attention, rather than just a straight team up with bigger number of heroes.

Although All Riders vs Dai-Shocker had a Rider tournament, we didn't even get the results of the matches outside of Tsukasa's. Let's Go had Rider 1 and 2 working for Shocker as one of its first revealed elements, and right when we start getting actual information about Super Hero Wars, although there is a Rider vs Sentai battle, Tsukasa and Marvelous joining the villains seems to receive even more focus so far (two magazines talking about the heroes becoming villains, but only one mentioning the big Rider vs Sentai battle so far)...

Well, Super Hero Wars doesn't even have "VS" in its name, so the "confrontation" part of the cross over might be downplayed.

Still, people are talking as if we've had a lot of "hero vs hero" crossovers. The fighting was part of Decade's plot, the fights between teams in Sentai crossovers don't last very long and are not the main point of the movie, the "evil" Ichigo and Nigo were explained as brainwashing, and all crossovers always end up with a team up...
