[TALK] S.I.C. Thread Part Deux

I have to resort to buying online, but if I happen to be on trip to Hong Kong or something, I definitely check for any major issues before buying.

I basically check for any scratches/paint chips/under painted parts on the chest, and make sure everything in the face is alright. As long as there's nothing obviously in front view, it's okay, since S.I.C. is sort of "rough around the edges" anyway.

Well, Kev's Kiva isn't all that great either. There's a big paint chip dead centre on the chest (which is now silver), and lots of silver from god-knows-where splashed on the eyes too.

My Den-O (Gun Form) also falls apart at the waist, because the joint was a defect. I couldn't get an replacement for this one because I brought it while in Hong Kong, and didn't open it until I got back to Australia. I ended up buying Climax Form and made them change joints instead, since I wasn't a fan of that form. That gave me the incentive to get Kintaros/Gaoh to finish the Imagin set.

Wow, you guys sure have encountered more problems than me. Guess I'm lucky :D I'd always been wondering, with limited stocks and long period of time between reissues, are the SIC figurines like...hand made and not mass-produced by machinery?

The figures themselves and most of the painting should be done by machine. A couple of touch up painting would have been done by manual labor. If all of those were done by hand, you won't get the same figure...

It would have cost so much more if they were hand made...

Hmm, touch up painting huh? Reminds me of my IXA, the panel lines on him are so messy and uneven. I wonder was it done by hand and the person doing it got tired or something. I like my SIC rough and stuff, but I don't like it if that particular SIC is a one of those cleaner designs, especially not when even the SIC is trying to give it a clean look.

Why hot glue? Use some krazy glue...

You might want to post a picture of the breakage so that folks can help you fix it. You might need to drill a small hole to reinforce the break with glue and a thin piece of metal.

It's the stick at the end of the hand. The thing you put in the arm hole to connect it. It broke at the part wrapped around the hand joint.
