Who do you choos of two seasons as the best actor?

Like Takuya said, Takeru Sato at this point. Of course my opinion may change the farther we get into Kiva.

I know, it might be not surprising that I´m for Koji too.

Beside that I´m still not impressed by Takeru´s acting work, he is always so very slow and his voice tends to be more annoying than expressive. There is a big lack of emotions in it and on his face. :disappoin He often seems to lack energy and comes around as very uncomfortable. Then, the argument that he interpreted all the different Imagins personalities, well seriously it was only masquerade he did, nobody really wants to sell that as "great acting work"? :sly: He didn´t even played them at all, just putting-on the needed cliché mimic, nothing kid´s wouldn´t do at Halloween. There was really nothing special about it, nothing difficult. Especially since he didn´t even had to explore or "life" these parts, just scratching on the surface, not even speaking them - now that would have been something! They made it really, really easy for him. It´s all just about the seiyuu their work and make-up/costumes that it came around as okay. You can see that clearly at the live-event how awful off he was with the seiyuu, so that he was not believable as actor, it was just very awkward. :sweat: I´m sorry, I know he is a very nice guy and a great break-dancer (!), but as an actor he lacks a lot of expressiveness. I don´t see that he was able to show Ryo´s maturing in Den-O enough, I´m always disappointed if I look back that he felt the same like at the start for me. And it´s the same with other parts he played, it was always very shallow. The music clip he did wasn´t bad, but then it was just keeping that sad face over 3 minutes without moving and speaking.

Koji on the other side, well just look at his works. It´s one of the reasons why I respect him so much. He is a young actor who takes the business extremly serious and works hard on his parts. He was always able to give all his characters depth and more than just one feature, what makes them real and him convincing. The stuck up all-school-club captain he played in Rocket Boys, his very first part, wasn´t just arrogant, he was actually an ego-maniac with suicidal tendency, when he failed. And his Eiji Kikumaru was far more than hyperactive and smiley, he was made vulnerable and angry. If you want to see an interpretation of different characters, well he was able to pull-off his part in "Oha Suta" in 8 different ways - impromptu and live - without the help of any make-up and costumes, just with his mimic and body language. So, if you really liked and respect what Takeru did on the "different-persona-acting", they are at least tied there. Then Koji is doing all the dubbing for Kiva (Garulus howling, Basshers humming, etc.). It´s something he seems to enjoy a lot too, what I heard from him so far over the recent years were voice impersonation from old Obi-Wan Kenobi, Donald Duck, even sultry voices with Osaka-ben like Oshitari Yuichis or an exact copy of Minagawa Junkos Echizen Ryoma - it´s hilarious sometimes. :laugh:

And his own musical skills help him to learn the instruments for the series. What he did in Kiva in the first 12 Episodes was already great, I mean, he was able to convince us in the first 5 seconds of his appearance that Wataru is nuts. That´s something!
And, he already matured. Wataru is after 20 years finally able to go out in the world and to talk to people, even opening up to a crowd of audience and starting to learn to believe in himself, as himself. He smiled, cried, doubted, hesitated and challenged already. Is that not good?
I got to know Koji as an young actor who is of a rare kind nowadays, because he owns all classical talents for an actor. He is able to act, sing and dance at pro level. And he stays far away from playing Boy Loves parts to push his career, what I´m very happy about! :thumbs:
So Koji is clearly the winner out of the two for me.

We still need more time for Seto. Remember Den-O had 49 episodes and 2 movies while Kiva has 12 episodes at this point and the Movie w/Den-O.

Right now I like them both, I think they're both great in the roles they were given, but I think Takeru Sato is still the better actor. While Koji Seto is pretty good, he doesn't seem to show much range and the argument that Takeru only acted well in the role of the other Imagin because he was doing the bare minimum for their character stereotypes could apply to Koji as well with him basically just playing "cute and bewildered" most of the time.
I think Takeru just had all the body language of the different Imagin, facial expressions and everything down, even if there was make up and stuff involved, that doesn't mean he wasn't a good actor. Look at Yuuichi Nakamura, he sucked whenever he was playing D-Yuuto, so Takeru definitely has talent.
Now this is just based on their Kamen Rider roles, not their other roles, in which I still think Takeru is better, but I haven't seen too much for Koji Sato outside of Kiva and the random D-Boys special.
