No range? Honestly? Wataru had visibly more character development in the first 12 episodes than Ryo had in whole Den-O. And for the just "cute and bewildered" part, well no, Wataru had already shown more expressions than Ryo´s always-blank-face.
I´m sorry, but Takeru just can´t convince me with his skills, I even saw better cosplayer. When we want to go into details, there are countless timing-errors in his movement in the series when he is possessed (just one example, when he is in the shop and tries to make coffee and gets possessed by different Imagins during it - that´s awfully played) and he has no comical talent, what´s making it painful to watch Ryo´s "unlucky moments". There are so many boring parts, when Takeru just can´t hold up any tension (one of the worst examples is the "Ryo and Yuuto on the fairground"-scene). Let´s not start with Nakamura. :disappoin
Anyway, for fans it´s awkwardness is seemingly part of Den-O´s charme.
