So VLC player can play all-region DVD ?

So i read from this post, that apparently VLC player can play all region DVD ?


So, is it true and does it work for anyone ?

VLC will play R2 DVDs in my experience (I assume ths is what you're asking about). I was able to watch R2s of Survive Style 5+ and Funky Forest on my PC using VLC.

As far as I know, using VLC will allow you to not have to change the region settings on your DVD drive, which you can only change something like five times.

It is absolutely true. DVD regions don't matter when you're playing them on a computer to begin with. I've played various DVDs that I've purchased (directly or indirectly) from regions 1-6 (which basically covers all DVDs commercially-available to the general public) using VLC on the same computer with no problems at all.

Yeah P-chan told me I could buy this dvd from Japan & watch it on my computer & I was like "wow!". XD So really don't need a region free dvd player.

Yup. Imported the Limited Special Collector's Edition of CASSHERN that was R2. Plays perfectly on VLC.

I got one when I bought a volume of the MÄR manga. It had the first episode of the anime series, but since I read stuff from france it wasn't compatible with my player...

I need to verify if I have VLC on this computer though.
