Skyfall 007: The Twenty-Third James Bond Film (2012)

Saw "Skyfall" today and it was really awesome. I, for one, didn't really like any of the Daniel Craig Bond films but hearing the opening theme made me feel like it was a return to the old Bond that I loved as a kid. As a result, I got all hyped up and wanted to see it and was not disappointed. "Skyfall" certainly makes up for my disappointment with the previous two. I enjoyed it a lot from start to end. The action was truly breathtaking. :buttrock:

Welcome to Scotland! I really enjoyed the movie. A lot of references to previous films, particularly the Connery-Lazenby era. Liked the point that, while the Cold War is over and there is basically no need for militant forces, now more than ever, there is still a need for spying and espionage. I liked how they dealt with M, MI6, Q, and Ms. Moneypenny. I also like how they dealt with Bond's inner demons and ghosts.

Me too. Most of the nostalgic references were pretty darn wicked really because grew up watching pieces of it when I was little alongside other retro films. Wish they'd make a TV show for it with other agents though.....:disappoin

I think this is about the first Bond movie I ever actively watched all the way through (at least first I saw in theaters) I have to say I did enjoy it.

One of my favorite parts though had to be.

Saw Skyfall a few days ago and it was a fantastic film overall. I'm not really a huge James Bond fan but now I want to go back and watch a lot of the older films. I started with Casino Royale and thought it was good. They really did a lot of character stuff in this movie which I really enjoyed. I plan on watching Quantum of Solace later today. Overall fantastic film and I'm really enjoying Daniel Craig as James Bond.

Definitely the best of the three Craig films that we've seen so far. Stunning cinematography, especially in the Shanghai fight, and it has a good mix of realism of Casino Royale with some of the fantastic natures of the Bond films. (Quantum was probably too realistic, and Bardem's Raoul Silva is just right. I'll be hitting a dead horse when I say his motivations are more intimate as opposed to older Bond films but he really was a great villain)

I just really thought the action was a lot better compared to previous movies as well, especially the opening Istanbul chase. It will probably never eclipse the opening parkour scene from Casino Royale but motorcycles, trains, construction vehicles, it was all sensational.

I really do enjoy Mendes's take on Bond. The whole aging Bond thing is great and pretty interesting. We've had a Bond in love, vengeful Bond and a Bond facing inadequacy and obsolescence, and I definitely how enjoyed intimate this story was. Even moreso than the Bond-Vesper storyline.

With two more movies for Craig, I hope he can continue to deliver. Hell, I hope Mendes comes back to direct the next two movies.
