Showa vs. Heisei: Ultraman

Having lived in Japan during the Showa era... I have to go with that.
While I -do- like the heisei era stuff.... it just doesn't hold a candle to the more masculine Showa era actors.

And that means that the shows are better? Personally I think Gaia is better than every Shouwa series, maybe except for Leo, and that sure as heck didn't have super masculine actors. Though I'm not too fond of Gaia's suit actor, he seems way too exaggerated at times, even for tokusatsu actions.

Showa! Campy fake-looking vehicles rule!

aside from the ground vehicles, all the Showa era mecha are actually realistic in a sense that you could actually picture them as real flying objects.

as for the Heisei ones, they are designed to be futuristic.
