Takeru wasn't exactly one of the best Reds, but he sure had the biggest "sword" out of all of them.

Most of the ways Takeru wasn't a great Red were problems of execution, too. On paper, he's a pretty great idea and I don't even think the character was poorly scripted. I think a better suit actor, better main performer, or even just better direction could've made a world of difference.

Anyway, I wouldn't consider Takeru one of the best reds. He was a leader type, which isn't very common these days, but, exactly because they had to hide his storyline for such a long time, he really didn't receive much continuous development through the series, besides opening up to the other team members.

I thought Takeru was one of the best reds we've had in a while. Not really over played like Sousuke, but with enough subtility to make him likeable to me.

And I thought the samurai stuff was just enough to be cool.

Did you honestly think they were going to do a musket? Everything has to evolve, including samurai. If the samurai code were still in effect today, with all of our modern technology, I could see the samurai being a lot different.

Also the "discs" are the guard of the sword, and give that old-timey praxinoscope feel to them.

I haven't seen the last ep yet (Waiting on subs....Still waiting...), but I've enjoyed it so far. This has been one of those seasons where I've actually liked every single character, and am really on the edge of my seat to see what the last ep will be like.

Anyway, Shinkenger, to me, feels exactly like what it is: a MODERN DAY samurai story.

Fun fact: Shinkenger is named after the art of Shinkendo, or "Way of the Real Sword". Shinkendo also incorporates Toyama Ryu, Gunto Soho, Battojutsu, Battodo, and jokyue.

Thanks to Genta the Shinkengers exceeded TenkuuShinkenOh. He was a powerhouse for all the new stuff(besides Mogyuu and bazooka)

Without him it would just be the 5 origami, 3 aux mecha and mogyuu.
